In ten years I' ll only be 32 which is still quite young, so I can see myself being single still and enjoying it.

However, I would like to have made my way to Junior Partner in a law firm. Have maybe at most 2 kids by then (Total soccer mom like AOPiLaLa, but my mini van will be a Jeep Chereokee or Dodge Durango). I would also liked to have done a little traveling by then. Also making a name for myself in the political world, by either starting out on a school board committee or city council.

Gosh, I don't even know what I want to be doing next month, much less think about when I'm 30.
Crazy.

I do want kids though, eventually.
Two kids.
A cat, a dog, a husband, and a nice house with a white pickett fence.

:)
My kids are named too-

As long as whoever I marry doesnt mind.
hehe.

In ten years, I will be 30. Hopefully, I will already be married. I probably would have just had my first kid or would be pregnant with my first child (I don't want to start having kids til I'm 29...I want to build a career first). I want to be working as a fashion buyer for a big chain department store such a Bloomingdale's or Nordstrom.

Wow...a lot of married aspiring lawyers here!

I think I'll just stick to my fine marketing job...it's great and I love it. As for the marriage thing, well if Steve Finley from the D-backs becomes available, then so be it. Otherwise, I'll probably be single :) As for kids, well, hey, I have a hard enough time making mac and cheese for myself at 27! :)

In 10 years I'll be 42. Yikes. :)

I will have won an Oscar for best original or adpated screenplay at 40, so I will be busy busy busy writing. I'll be married, living in a house with a pool in the Hills above Sunset Plaza, with 2 kids--Meghan Claire and Ryan Thomas--probably under the age of 5 since I am completely single now, ha ha, and 2 dogs.

I will also have made millions 10 years prior from the sale of tv pilot with writing partner and friend Erika and will be living largely off the syndication of the original idea. :D

I will have an apartment in Paris where I will retreat to when I need solitude to write.

I'll serve on the board of Women in Hollywood, and RIF (reading is fundamental).

:)

Teaching college history.

I will still be married and my girl or boy will be 9 years old by then and hopefully will have a sibling also. I pray our dog Shasta is still alive and kickin and that my husband finally gives up the fight and agrees with me to move to a nice Chicago suburb.

Since I have a fear of ever working for someone younger than me... I am hoping one of my friends strikes it rich and needs a personal assistant. Amy and Erika are looking like good bets!

Other than that- I hope I have tons of good friends, my family can count on me always and my kids never end up on Jerry Springer!

juniorgrrl 10-30-2001 05:52 PM

In 10 years, I'll be 31. Hopefully, I will be married for 5+ years. No kids just yet. Maybe.

I hope to be working as an intellectual property attorney, living in either New Orleans, or Mandeville (the 'burb where I live now).

Who knows what else. I can't wait to see! :D

Wow ten years...that's more than half of my life that I've lived so far...

I guess I'll be 28 and half in exactly 10 years (today--Oct 30-- is my half B-day)

I'll be in my third year of residency as an Orthopedic surgeon, in a large hospital, hopefully in Colorado as I love the mountains and skiing. I'll have a beautiful wife (some sorority chick :D) of almost five years with one daughter--Penelope Melinda--who will be under a year old.
Assuming that I do indeed initiate in January, then in ten years I will be an active donor to Beta Theta Pi and the Alpha Tau chapter. I'll try to make it back as often as possible for Homecoming or my chapters Alumni Golf tournament.

Depending on my schedule I'd love to coach club soccer, which would also keep me in shape. Either that or golf as much as possible. Once I finally got to practice I'd make sure that I was a mentor for High School students interested in medicine, due to my own experience with several doctors who mentored me this past year.

Other than those things as much traveling as possible, cruises mainly. That and with my close proximity to the mountains a lot of skiing, hopefully I could go in with some friends either from Beta and/or Med school/residency and buy a cabin in a ski town like Aspen or Breckinridge.
So that's the goal, and I have a lot of faith in myself that I can reach it.

We are actually having an exchange with Sigma Chi this month with this exact theme. I can only imagine what those boys have planned!

In 10 years, I will be 29. I will hopefully be married to a wonderful fraternity man. We will have spent our early days of marriage traveling and enjoying eachother. I don't want to set too much a future because I intend to plan it with my future husband. Therefore, number of kids, where we will live, and such will have to be a mutual selection. Because whatever makes him happy is something that I will strive to attain in our marriage.

But in an ideal picture, I would be a highly educated mother.;) I would have worked intensely for the first few years of my career . As I worked my way up the advertising/business...(I'm only 2nd year...I still have time!)...ladder I will begin to balance family and work. Hopefully having the ability to do conferencing at home. I will drive a suburban, pick up the kids from soccer practice, and make wonderful homecooked meals for my family. I will have freshly baked cookies or brownies when my children get home on Fridays. The laundry will be in the machine while I go shop for groceries and play tennis at our country club with old college sorority sisters and such. My children will be a very integral part of my life, yet I will set aside a bit of time each day to have a glass of wine with my husband and let us share our days or just relax. My family will go to holiday parties and my boys will "go over to Bobby's house" after school on those random days. Gosh, this is sounding oh so cliche....

This is the life of most of the mothers where I grew up, so it's set the standard I suppose. Then again, fate could have me on a farm in Denmark with a husband who raises dairy cows. Who knows? I just want to look back and say that I never regretted a thing.

In ten years, I'll be 33..oh my gosh...

I'll never drive a minivan or suburban(no offense to those who want to ). If I have kids, I'll never let them watch Teletubbies or Barney. Hopefully, I'll have kids...maybe..if I can put up with them...I may be married, but who knows..that could also happen when I'm 80 with a gazillion cats. Academically, I'll either be an Advanced Nurse Practioner, or finished with med school. I don't know, because what I've figured out so far is that nothing EVER EVER happens the way you plan it. Hopefully I'll be happy, healthy, and still surrounded by people who I love (who are also happy and healthy :) )

In 10 years, I'll be 36.

I'm already married to a wonderful guy and we have the house in the 'burbs (with the accompanying big mortgage :( ).

We will have 1 daughter (future AEPhi ;) ) and 1 son, and hopefully a cat (my husband is allergic, but I hear there's a company working on hypoallergenic cats...)

I will be a VP Engineering with my present employer - one of the few surviving dot.coms. Or with some other company. Either way, big responsibility, and big salary. ;)

I will drive an SUV. (You need 'em in New England :) - besides, I want to be a little woman in a BIG SUV <g> ) No station wagons or minivans for me - they're hell to parallel park :D

Hey amycat

Maybe you can use your USC power to hook me up with Carson Palmer as my future husband, eh? ;)

Hey...good name for your daughter, Carolyn!;) My little girls(if I have girls) will be either Taylor Madison, Claire McKenzie, Piper, or Blaze. For my boys Ethan Rustin and/or Joshua Jared.

In ten years....I see myself happy and having fun.

Now, that could entail a lot of things. Maybe I'll be a high school history teacher/baseball coach. That would be cool. Maybe I'll be a sportswriter on a good newspaper (Boston Globe, LA Times, one of the Chicago papers, etc.) Maybe I'll be married to a beautiful, fun woman who I absolutely love. Maybe I'll have kids, a son who I can teach sports too and play catch with, maybe a daughter who I'm going to be protective as hell of (I have a little sister, so I've gotten good practice being protective of her)

All I know is, I'm going to be happy and having fun, and that's what's important.
