Thank you all for the advice. Hopefully this will help her. And I don't know for sure if she is getting counseling from anyone for her past hardships. I mean, we've talked about it together but that's not the same as getting professional help. I do believe that maybe part of her desire to rush is wanting to fit in, however, I would never tell her that. This information should hopefully get her to see reason.

There are a lot of things she can get involved with. If it's a sorority she wants, there are some community-based (Beta Sigma Phi, for one), or service sororities.

There are plenty of organizations in the community where you can develop close bonds, perform service, and get involved. Anything from church work to Junior League to charity work, etc. What are her passions? Perhaps finding something that has to do with her hobbies. Good luck. You are a kind friend.

You think so? I think she's too involved or it comes across that way. I couldn't have a friend who needed me to educate him or her on such things and be so involved in something like this. But,this might be about people who like to be needed for something.

The OP said her friend asked for her help/advice. I don't see what's wrong with my suggestion.

I was replying to your statement that she's a good friend.

There's nothing wrong with your suggestion aside from my belief that there's something wrong with the OP's friend and their friendship.
