I have no hard evidence that I can point to which will prove my claim one way or another. However, in 100% of cases I have observed or been party to in the past, something of value always changed hands. If not cash/check it was a 'gift' like a few cases of fine bourbon.

The father is named (Judge) Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. While the son is named Joseph Henry McKinley III. (see #2, above)
