She was.

Did you know that you could use your iPod as an external hard drive? You don't have to let all that space go to waste. ipodlounge.com has some tutorials on how to do it, it's pretty easy actually.

Seriously?! I need an external hard drive so bad. My laptop always wants me to do these back-ups and now I have a ton of back-up CDs that are just taking up space. But, I also wouldn't want to use up all of it's space just on back-ups alone. Ya know what I mean?

I've had an iPod classic and an iPod Touch. When I was buying my iPod Touch was debating whether to get an Touch or a Nano. I only have 8GB of music, so the Nano was good space wise. Also, it's a lot cheaper than the Touch, and it would be more convenient for running. But I went with the Touch because I like being able to use all the Apps and be online when I can. There's also an App called I Heart Radio. It lets you listen to live radio in your area (not all stations are available) and radio stations in different cities. However, you need to be on a wireless network in order to do that.

yep.

I actually like FM radio, too. Do you know what the names of the apps are? I'd like to download them.

I've only used I heart radio (the same one lovespink just mentioned).

I have the 80GB Ipod Classic and have liked it because it holds all of my music plus movies. I've enjoyed watching movies on it when traveling by plane. I have to say though, now that I have my Droid phone, I don't use the Ipod nearly as much because it also holds all of my music. I still prefer the Ipod for when I work out, do yard work, etc. and it will be more convenient if I'm flying somewhere. I don't anticipate flying all that much for a while though.

Ok so I am not big on Pandora. I like Wunder radio because it allows me to get my local stations it picks up

I have an MP3 player that is 1 GB with a 1 GB expansion slot filled. I have close to 30GB of music, so I just rotate out songs I like and rarely fill the 2 GB. It has a radio, which I really like (FM only).

So I'm considering an upgrade to an iPod, but I don't know what to get.

iPod Nano - I hear they play video. I like that. Do they have an FM tuner? What are the sizes?

iPod Classic - Same questions.

iPod Touch - My sister has one and loves it for the video capabilities and the fact she can get internet. That appeals to me a lot, if I'm out and about. But how is it for music?

So any opinions on these three? What would you recommend and why?

I too had never owned an iPod (or any other sort of mp3 player) until I got a 160 GB Classic this past Christmas.

Now I seriously wonder how I ever lived without it. I do alot of flying to the west coast (from Ohio) and my 4 hour plane trips have never been the same.

It doesn't have radio or internet capabilities (that I know of anyway lol), but I don't like radio anyway, and if I'm out and about and need internet, I have my phone.

Don't use iTunes to store your songs if you can help it, the thing runs like a pig (at least on my computer). I use WinAmp and it works MUCH better.

I tried it with WinAmp when I first got my iPod, and it almost corrupted everything (I had to DL a plugin to do it -- was endorsed by NullSoft, too).

Once you get used to it, iTunes isn't that bad.

I have an iPod Touch and a 2nd Gen Nano - can't live without them. The Touch really is like a little computer - I read GC on it a lot (but rarely post because I never got the hang of QWERTY texting).
