Reading this post and those comments made from the students at the USC Village makes me sad about being in the state of South Carolina... It's ridiculous that they still have that mentality. I remember being excited about the Omega's house and made sure to drive by to make sure that its construction was progressing well. The sad thing now is that it's not their house anymore. During construction there was a "future home of Omega Psi Phi" sign up but I never saw those letter grace the front of the house and right now another organization's name is there and another organization lives in the house. I have no idea what happened but it seems as though those racist orgs got their way…

Wow, thanks for the follow-up on this. I'm sorry to hear that it never became a reality...I wonder what happened? I'm getting ready to build a house for a chapter here in Florida...they're in the last stages of financing - and catching hell. Also, there are several other fraternity houses on the same street...but now the city wants to "re-visit" some zoning issues concerning the proposed parcel of land. We're staying prayerful and positive... |

fratty.net hasn't been around for a loooong time.
A few of the members got kicked out of their fraternities for it (I know at least one Kappa Sig). This is a really old article. Oh, and I believe the reason they didn't get the house because they had some sort of large-scale rumble with another fraternity that resulted in a lot of arrests. If I remember correctly, which it's a bit fuzzy. |

The Omegas still own the house, however they lease it out to another fraternity.
