I've never heard of a position in a chapter call IFC rep. We've never elected an IFC representative during elections. I'm guessing that the President would be that person. There are IFC presidents meetings bi-monthly.

Lets say an IFC meeting was scheduled for tomorrow. Who would attend from each chapter? Who can vote?
|
I am aware of situations where IFC is made up entirely of elected members and there is no representation from some houses. That appears to be the situation here. Brian, your chapter needs to get some of your brothers elected. Otherwise, you have absolutely no say in making or changing the rules.
And these rules sound like the really need to be changed. |
Why can't "questionable" slides (ie, the volleyball pic) be looked at on a case-by-case basis? Absolutism of any means is wrong wrong wrong.

Hello
If I am getting Brian right it is not IFC that is ruling on the pics but the Greek Life office. In which case I would work with the IFC officers and the other fraternities to get the standards back to somewhere in the middle. I know there has been a lot of turnover the last few years in the Greek Life Office but do you have a faculty advisor or someone that can help you out too? Oh btw have a toasted roll for me! (yum!!) |
?????
I for one have never heard of the IFC not being members of the Fraternies on campus and have ing and elected rep. from each Org.
That is who the IFC represents and is and should be run by Greek members with an advisor probably the Greek Advisor from the school! If there is a Greek Advisor who is a problem, then the President from each Fraternity and Soroity should to talk to someone in higher authority about getting a new Greek Advisor who has both the Greek Orgs. and the school both in their mind! Advisor is exactly what is says they advise, not make policy unless it is against the rules of the School but advise only! |
IFC here is made up of representatives from each chapter -- they are President, VP, Finance, Recruitment, etc. We have almost 30 fraternities at Miami, so it is sometimes hard to get a brother from here on IFC exec.
Maybe I was wrong in saying it was an IFC problem, it is basically because of this one person in Greek Affairs. Sorry, I was just venting.... We don't need to make an issue of this anymore :) |
