That makes sense being as every year there are calls for the organization to change the name.
There are lots of people in the area that don't know the history of the team (nor probably care)

A lot of people here like the orioles, and they're starting to steal fans away from the Braves. I guess the NOVA types root for the Nationals. Richmond now has the Flying Squirrels (AA baseball) and the Renegades (AA hockey). We had a WNBA team for a while, but I guess no one in town supported them. Even for a WNBA team.

will wait for Angelos to drop dead or Ripken to buy the Os before I ever watch or go to another game.

seriously... the fans should have an option to oust a crappy owner. And I hate the Redskins, but it's the same with them and Dan Snyder.

There are tons of Cowboys fans in the DC area...sometimes I think there are more than Skins fans.

Or do you mean you don't understand why everyone here loves the Cowboys? I don't either...but then again, they are "America's team."

Everyone in NOVA roots for Washington teams, which is good because no one who actually lives in Washington does!

Yeah, I was being facetious, but that's what the media calls them.

As for the Nats, I don't know how anyone in DC could support them, their tickets are expensive and they suck! At least with the O's, the tickets are reasonable.

Actually I got into a discussion with a knucklehead and that's all she could say about her 'favorite team' it was then I realized that she didn't know jack about the Cowboys or football except that they are "America's Team."

I hate band wagon hoppers.

How much are Orioles tickets? You can get Nats tickets for $5...

DaemonSeid 01-11-2010 08:42 PM

Ouch! Poor Nats. :( I think they might not actually be too bad when they get their pitching straightened out.

Yeah, you can get O's tickets for the same amount, but the good tickets at the Os are much, much cheaper than at the Nats. Who cares about the $5 tickets where you can't even read the number on the back of the jerseys. I have season tickets six rows up behind home plate. For the same price, I can only buy a ticket 20 rows back half way down the first baseline. My equivalent seats at the Nats are the blue seats that are always empty because they overprice them for corporations, etc.

Sounds like me when I said I was a CUBS fan as a kid because I like to watch WGN.

My husband laughs at people who are Yankees, Redsox or Cowboys fans who don't live in those towns. Way to be a fair weather fan!
