If this is your 'dream' then pursue it, otherwise you may end up kicking yourself down the line for never even trying. Realize that you have to make an effort to come out of your shell at rush and show your potential sisters what you have to offer (dedication, service, interests, etc.) Hopefully you will find a house (or two or three, don't know how many are on your campus) that you feel very comfortable in from the beginning which should make that 'opening up' easier.
