However, this does not sound heavenly. I picture the chapter meeting that has people repeating the same stuff they have for the past 3 weeks or asking questions that they could just ask the secretary....and it just doesn't last an hour...but forever......*shudder*

I know exactly what you mean; I've attended a few "chapter eternals" in my day! ;)

I can't speak for all of the other chapters, but Chi Omega does not have any active, living Omega chapter. Our Omega chapter is reserved as a special designation for deceased members only.

AFAIK, AEPhi has no special designation for deceased members. There used to be a "real" collegiate Omega Chapter, which I believe is defunct...

Theta Chi uses the term The Chapter Eternal for desced memebers as well.

Girlfriend, I have missed you :D

In response to the question -- hmmm...never thought to ask. We do have an Omega chapter, so I guess that that's not it (one would hope not anyway).

As for "Chapter Eternal" - AMEN to that - I've been to WAY too many of those (and no - I wasn't the cause :D)

For Alpha Sigma Phi our deceased brothers go to the OMEGA chapter in which we had a brother from our chapter pass away this summer in a car accident so all of you out there please be careful.....
