Not sure where they got them. Obviously, they aren't worn as a serious item - neither are the NEON shirts, hats, crokies, sunglasses, etc. It's a huge recruiting event and they wear and give out ridiculous stuff with their letters on them.

woops - link just took you to the website - go to Roundup - KA - Friday night, and it's picture 11. You can clearly see the fanny packs

oh wow thank you, this was the school I originally saw the fanny packs on from a girl there. But this is great, and hopefully will help send me in the right direction haha

So I looked at some of the photos on the site, and I find it fascinating that there are pictures with letters (of more than one sorority) clearly with alcohol, not just cups that could contain diet soda or fruit juice. If it was a third party vendor no biggie, but it obviously isn't since most hired bartenders aren't storing handles on top of the fridge. I kind of expect that on Facebook with personal photos, but on a professional photo site for the whole world to see? I know people do all kinds of things, but photographic proof isn't always a good idea.

My husband is from England and there was a time when I used the word fanny pack referring to tourists. When it came out of my mouth time stood still. In GB "fanny" refers to a different part of a woman's body. Last year when we were over there our friend from Texas did the same but it was funnier when it was him and not me creating the shock. He told our hostess she "must have been working her fanny off" preparing the food. Same response. It was so funny after the quiet. It still cracks me up thinking about it.

haha thank you! I will try Wallmart thats a good idea, and Ill keep in mind England/Australia word meaning incase I run into someone from there haha. We just wanted to get them for like our next date dash if was themed and the fanny packs wouldn't actually be worn as serious item :)

Please tell me this would be an optional theme item, lol. I'm all for theme parties, but I'm not a fan of fanny packs. ;)

hahahaha themed... DLAM

pearlbubbles 07-17-2009 01:02 PM

Okay, maybe the better question here is, what sort of theme would require a fanny pack? Haha.

Nerds on vacation? ;)

Could be funny!! Guys could wear black reebock tennis shoes with tube socks, jorts, ugly tshirt (with a howling wolf or something on it), and requisite fanny pack. Girls could wear Tevas, an ugly denim skort, and a tacky t - and fanny pack.

hahaha so now that we have realized were in the same house, this is funny. But I was thinking some kind of weird 80s or I guess 90's event haha. Or the funny fact of just having one.

Hi! I've been trying to come across sorority fanny packs, I saw some from another Tridelta chapter long time ago, but was never fully able to figure out were they got them. Does any one have any leads I could follow into getting some? thank you!

The Tridelts had the coolest ones. They were coolers! With front and side pockets to hold the rest of their stuff. :p

I know I am a few years late to this conversation, but we just had an XMAS 80's party up at UW (GO DAWGS!!) and we got out fanny packs from partypacksam.com. They came with neon glasses and a bunch of other party shit in a teal fanny pack. They cam with lube and ping pong balls. We wanted to get them embroidered but they could not do that at that time. From what I saw, Fanny packs are back baby!

Oh dear GOD. I don't know whether to laugh or cry from laughing. Lube and ping pong balls....

I was surfing the net helping a friend party plan this time last year. She was looking for unique party favors for Derby time and we saw the ping pong balls that could be customized for your occasion. She seriously considered getting some made for beer pong games at her party. In the example, the ping pong balls had fraternity letters on them. I wish I could remember the site we were on, I would post the link.
