You might also want to look into San Antonio Junior League (google it). I was in a sorority in college, and I'm now in the JL. It's somewhat similar...it's a selection process not unlike rush, very social and philanthropic. JL is a pretty big deal all over Texas, so I'm sure SA's chapter is very active.

thank you titchou for pointing out that samford does have sororities and fraternities(and has had for many, many years).
dcconline,my daughter is a member of a sorority at samford. samford is affiliated with the baptist church-as is baylor. don't generalize. |

And most HBCU's are faith based and have NPHC's (I know I'm lane swerving), so generalizing doesn't always work--that's all I was saying.
