Dang... I wish I'd known about that ISIC card about 8 years ago... ;)
Seriously, since you're 17, a 21+ ID would have to be absolutely flawless to be believable. I would go for a 19+ ID. (A lot of the bars around Boston that aren't 21+, are 19+) That way, you can't drink, and you'll get hit with a higher cover, but you can hang out with your friends, etc. And in 2 years it will magically become a 21+ ID :) |
for the same reason the ISIC card is extremely easy to obtain . . . it is worthless a lot of places. For instance - I live in Boston. No ISIC card will work for ish here. "I'm from out of the nation" - "OK, fine, show me your passport."
Don't try cheap ploys - cut to the chase, if you really feel the need to misrepresent your age, either drop serious money for a serious ID (prob not the best idea ever), get someone else's real id (fair to middling), or wait til 21 . . . peace out - drop me more questions if you want more specific answers, i waited tables/bartended all summer . . . so i know a thing or two. |
i appreciate that veruca. ksig, why the hell would they expect you to have a passport on you? last night i experimented with friends, it works!

my fake id story(one of many)
I went through a fair share of ids - some good, some bad . I had one for 21 while I was in SO PADRE - I was 20. Worked like a charm, despite being looked at hardcore by cops.
Two weekends later, went out in louiville. got into phoenix hill without a prob with the same id howver at have a nice day/bar and the bouncer gave the id(an Illinois state id ) to a cop, who took the id and asked me "Darlin, do you know that uh in the stayte of Kentuckeee, it is a felahnee to posess fake ideeees? I cried, I said I had no idea and he said I will let you go this time, just dont ever let me catch you try that again. so bottomline - be careful whatever you decide to do and remember that you are not the only 17 yo at college. your time will come! |
Wow, at least he let you go. I was always too nervous to try a fake even though I could have had one made up.

Why do you have the ISIC? Presumably, b/c you're a student from "abroad" that needed other id . . . so how'd you get into the nation? That's what the bars around here ask. It's either passport, or if it's a NAFTA nation or a trade partner it's a DL (aka UKDLVA) or a BC. So . . . they know you have one, b/c you brought it in with you. So they'll ask for it. If you're not abroad . . . then you'll probably have a state-issued ID document (either DL or non-driver ID). So that's what they'll expect. I have a friend from Kenya, he had his brother's drivers license from Kenya . . . here, they asked him for a passport instead. Of course he has to have one . . . how else is he here? And there's no "international" barbook . . . Surprisingly, you'll have better luck with a 'real' id, or one rep'ing a state id . . . try a state-issued ID, i guarantee a 10x better result. Now, I'm in boston - where IDs are regularly checked . . . those such as IowaHawkeye can explain to you that this isn't the way it is at 'real' colleges, but that's the way it goes. ISICs are useless here, I promise you. If it works for you, SXcard, at Louisville that's phat as hell - but you'll get nowhere here with it, i've seen friends try. That's why it costs b/w 1 and 2 c's for an id . . . Either way - probably if you're in a region where it's an issue, be very careful - it can be a bigtime penalty if you do things the wrong way - discretion is the better part of valor, remember. |
