I don't know, guys. For some reason I was under the impression that the OP wasn't talking about fraternities and sororities.

What's funny is that, even though Greeks did wear togas, it originated with the Etruscans, then eventually, the Romans.

I think togas look awesome. Sadly there is no such tradition as Greek life in the UK university system, and such things are to our detriment.

The regalia of it all is a key attraction.

Usually we wear these fashionable every day togas around...like to class and stuff...

But every once in a while, we go all out for parties and stuff...these are designer togas.

I'm 100% sure she's not in the first picture.

I can't disclose information about other sororities, but in Alpha Phi we are required to wear full dress togas (white with silver and bordeaux trimming) on important days like Founders Day. Wearing a toga in public was really really embarrassing the first few times, but now I am used to it.

The dry cleaner absolutely ruined my full dress toga. It's so hard to find good help these days.

Isnt a toga just 1 or 2 big white sheets wrapped a certain way?

Oh, table cloths can make good togas, too.

I remember a Snoopy toga from college, and one creative brother from a fraterity used a Twister mat.Sadly, I don't have photographic evidence of either :(.
