The Peterson International Headquarters of Sigma Chi Fraternity - also founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio - is located in downtown Evanston, Illinois.

Alpha Chi was founded in Greencastle, Indiana, and as said earlier, we're headquartered in Indy. They're about fifty miles apart.

I know Chi Omega was founded at U of Arkansas, and it's headquartered in Memphis. Is that just because that's the closest large city, or a different reason? Any Chi O's know?

We are hqed in Colorado - it's my understanding that Colorado was chosen because of its central location.

Yes, there are special tax incentives for GLO headquarters in Indy.

What taxes do GLOs pay at their IHQs other than payroll and possibly something for their investments?

Phi Mu's national headquarters is in Peachtree City, Georgia. It is home to both Phi Mu Fraternity and Phi Mu Foundation. The 31,672 square foot National Headquarters houses a Leadership Training Center, library, conference rooms and office space. The National Headquarters also contains a museum, along with numerous Phi Mu artifacts and memorabilia spanning throughout our 153 year history. It is located not too far from where our Alpha Chapter was founded at Weslyean College in Macon.

Our HQ was located in New York City just minutes away from our Alpha at NYU. In the 1960s it was moved to Stamford CT and in 1993 it moved to St. Louis MO (the center of the country). In 2007, we made a strategic move to move it east to Philadelphia within a 3 hour drive of 50% of our membership (or some such astounding statistic).

What exactly is Colorado central to though? I've always thought that CO was such a random location.

I hope your pledges find it useful.

We've found that lit matches are an effective and efficient learning tool.
But, thanks anyway.

SAE was founded at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and for the first few years was headquartered in the south through a "Grand Chapter" heirarchy. Later on the headquarters was moved to the vicinity of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, just outside of Chicago. The singular reason for this was a man named Billy Levere, after whom our headquarters building is named (Levere Memorial Temple). He was recruited into our Illinois Psi-Omega Chapter at Northwestern and throughout his life ended up being a huge force within the Fraternity, eventually holding virtually every national office possible. Apart from the names of our eight Founders, Billy Levere's name is one of the very few others that are taught to our pledges with nearly equal esteem.

Alpha Phi's Alpha chapter is in Syracuse NY but our headquarters are in Evanston IL.

Thetagirl218 02-05-2009 09:22 PM

As previously stated, Kappa Alpha Theta's International Headquarters is in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our Alpha Chapter is nearby at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.

The same also applies for Alpha Chi Omega.
