Probably more than half of my close girlfriends are from different sororities than my own. Many of those women from other organizations were members of chapters on my campus.

If you're involved, and you're friends with a lot of involved people, then chances are that they're not all going to be from your chapter.

did any of you have friends in other groups in your wedding party?

I have friends in different sororities but none that I'm as close with as my own sisters. I usually just see them around and chat it up. I'll try to go to their events if they're having one (Pancake fundraiser, male beauty pageant, etc.) There are some groups where I don't know ANYONE involved.

I'm not getting married, but my Big Sis is getting married.

Her bridal party includes all 4 of her Little Sisters!

I'd say there is one other sorority we do a lot of events with (not surprisingly, the one we overlap the most with during rush), and one or two others we occasionally do events with. The others we don't do many events with mostly because we don't really have much in common, not because of some rivalry or anything like that.

ETA: It probably helps that we have delayed rush, so girls have friends they made before they rushed who end up in other houses. One of my very best friends is in another sorority, and, though I have no immediate plans to get married, I would totally have her in my wedding party if I did.

During college years, two of my close friends were roommates with each other and hanged out a lot with them. Both of them had gone through recruitment together and joined different NPC sororities, yet they still remained close friends. It was through their influence and encouragement that I first went to the interest group meetings when Theta came to my campus. To this day, we still joke that one of them is my Panhellenic big sister and the other my aunt! ;)

In my experience, at most campuses, Greeks are friendly with one another. They support each other in Philanthropy and fund raising events. While there may be slight rivalries during times of recruitment, most sorority girls I know had friends in all the different sororities on campus.
