THANK GOODNESS.

But who's gonna cause drama?

SWTXBelle 11-24-2008 09:47 PM

Oh, there will be drama. Any time you have brides, their friends, their families, and the possible expenditure of thousands of dollars you will have drama!

DreamfulSpirit 11-24-2008 09:51 PM

Oh thank god she's gone! She never listened to anyone!

I recall that there was a girl who came in who wanted to look at a certain style of dress (I think it was a "grecian goddess sheath dress kind of look"), and Claudia says "Well, unless you're tall and thin it doesn't usually look good. It's a hard look to pull off, but we can let you try on a few and see it for yourself." Then she jokingly apologized for being a "Debbie Downer."

I thought that was a tad rude. I mean, who says that to someone when they first walk into a store? I know that as a consultant, you should offer your opinion, but I also think you should let the brides pick and try on whatever they want, even if you don't think it looks the best. There's a fine line between offering your opinion and just NOT listening.

If I ever went to Kleinfeld, I'd want Keasha to be my consultant. She's my fave, hands down. She just seems so nice.

I just read the interview at the link ZTABullwinkle posted. Great insight into the show and the owners, etc.

Love this show!

I bought my Lazaro dress at Kleinfelds in 2005. When my Mom and I were there we were interviewed by TLC to see if there would be intrest in a tv show. So I was one of the very first brides TLC spoke with!

It really is an amazing experience and the seamstresses are out of this world. My consulant was Samantha, but Mara and Ronnie (owners) were also there. Mara signed my book, with some personal comments about my dress! They did such a good job of finding my dream dress, even though it was not really what I thought I was looking for.

I was a princess bride!! (Thanks again Mom and Dad!!!)

I really like Keesha too. She rocks.

Speaking of seamstresses, what about the mom punching Vera (or whatever her name was) last night?!?

I would probably have hit her back!

Bumping because I just saw that "Say Yes to the Dress: Ultimate Wedding Edition" is set to record on my DVR. I haven't heard about this, anyone know what it's about?

agzg 01-25-2009 11:12 PM

It's about three deserving brides and I think the store is picking up the tab for the dresses - I'm loving it already!

KSUViolet06 01-26-2009 01:20 AM

I love how the one older lady's fiance calls Tavern on the Green asking about getting married there the NEXT DAY.

I woul think that it would be impossible to book a venue in 2 days ANYWHERE, much less in NYC.

ETA: As much as I'd love to get a dress from there, I don't know that I'd actually want to GET MARRIED IN THE STORE. You do what you have to I suupose.

I <3 Randy: "I WANTED TO SCREAM, OOOHHH NO, it's POLYESTER!"

It's hard to just get reservations at Tavern on the Green that fast! But I loved how that whole scene panned out.

I know. My DH had to book the restaurant a month in advance to have dinner - but it was well worth it when he got down on one knee after dessert and asked me to marry him :)
