Just five minutes in New Hampshire this morning. Phew!

I waited about 10 minutes last thursday for early voting

5 minutes from the time I entered the building to the time I cast my ballot in the machine.

got to the polls at 530 (yeah i know lol) doors opened at 6, and got home at seven...nowhere near what i thought it would be!

I did not wait...and Michigan does not have early voting either. I showed up about 8:45.

The radio was saying there were huge waits everywhere, but my precinct had empty booths. Weird.

That's not that weird - my area of Connecticut had some really long waits, including my home town, where there were huge lines when the polls opened at 6. However, in my current town, there was almost no wait at all.

No wait here!

40 minutes.

About 30 minutes for me. There are two precincts that vote in my polling location, and lucky for me I seem to live in the less populous one. The line for the other precinct went across the parking lot. My precinct had only a short line indoors.

No early voting in MO, incidentally.

When hubby and I showed up, there was only one person in line in front of us. When we gave them our street name, they became very confused. Apparently because our street/neighborhood is new construction (0-3 years depending on which lot you bought), the info provided on the voter location finder website(s) have incorrect info. So we had to drive over to another location, which was horrible.

It took about 25-30 minutes to get into the parking lot. Because people had parked on the curb, the driveway into the firestation parking lot ended up only being wide enough for one car, so people leaving were having a hard time getting out, and people arriving were trying to get in.

Once I was in line, I stood for only 15 minutes or so. Then another 10-15 minutes to get out of the parking lot. Again, people coming in weren't letting people get out, and other people parking right in the lane itself. As I was exiting, two men ended up getting out of their cars and having a verbal argument in the middle of the road in front of the building, at which point I called the police to come direct traffic or do SOMETHING.

So maybe an hour; when I left it was around 10am.

ETA: I was voter 485 in my precinct.

I was really impressed with the excitement of people in line, as well as the number of teenagers waiting to vote.

It took me an hour and a half to vote in Kansas City, MO. I was really excited to learn that 50% of my precinct had voted by 10am....just amazing.

If you don't mind me asking, where do you poll? Mine is the Main Street train station, right there when you first get to the bottom if you are coming from the slip. Right by the Farmer's Market. It was pretty hectic already at 7.

I got to the poll in Los Angeles at 6:40. They opened at 7:00 and I was back to my car by 7:30. When I left there was a huge line around the building so wait times were probably getting longer.

It took me about five minutes to vote; just had to wait for a machine to become available. Including drive time I'd say the entire process took about fifteen minutes.

0 minutes. I did absentee mail-in 3 weeks ago. I've voted via absentee mail-in for the last 3 elections. I think I've only been to my polling area on Election Day once.

I've been watching coverage of polling areas on the news and I think it's wonderful that so many people are coming out to vote. Even despite the long lines, no one seems to really be complaining.
