“A word to the WISE isn't necessary, it's the STUPID ones who need the advice.- Dr. W.H. Cosby, Jr.

The longer quotes are my all time (or ultime? :P) favorites.

"There is something about music that keeps its distance even at the moment that it engulfs us. It is at the same time outside and away from us and inside and part of us. In one sense it dwarfs us, and in another we master it. We are led on and on, and yet in some strange way we never lose control."
-Aaron Copland

"You only live once. Why miss the opportunity?"
-Richie Herskowitz (1990-2007) a friend I was supposed to graduate high school with

"In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life. It goes on."
-Robert Frost

"Straight Americans need... an education of the heart and soul. They must understand - to begin with - how it can feel to spend years denying your own deepest truths, to sit silently through classes, meals, and church services while people you love toss off remarks that brutalize your soul."
-Bruce Bawer

Everybody wants a happy life. But sometimes people, in order to achieve a happy and successful life, rely entirely on external means like money and power. I think this is a mistake. Ultimately, the source of happiness and joyfulness is within ourselves. And once our mind is more calm and joyful, then our activities can be more effective. **~Dalai Lama~**

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."

"people attempt to debate with me all the time. I don't mind when people criticize me or my convictions, but that doesn't mean I'm going to substitute their judgement for my own. I know my values. I know what I believe and what I stand for. that's what matters" -prettyboy http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/8.gif:p

"Just because you're on a paved road doesn't mean you're on the right track."

I saw this written (read: vandalized) on a bathroom stall once, but its significance never left me.

"You're always a better person for every journey that you take."

It is easier to avoid the effects of others' negativity when we question if an action or attitude is appropriately directed at us. If it isn't, we can choose to sidestep it and let it pass.~~~SUE PATTON THEOLE
