433. For having the best ls in the world! She looked out for me & helped me to get the best job of my life so far!!!! Delta love, all day erry day :D

434. Meeting a soror this weekend while out of town who showed me the true meaning of our wonderful sisterhood. She introduced herself to me & made sure that I felt welcomed & can call her anytime I need to.

Those experiences only reinforce why I love Delta!!!!

435. The outpouring of love for Soror Pham this past weekend was phenomenal. She needed that support from Sorors and many didn't know her. I love my D-S-T.

To My Back

Hey Sorors,

I want to salute "my back" Dawn " Miracle" Blackwell, #48 of the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter. She is a woman of great inspiration, hope and courage. God saw fit to have our lives join in Delta and I am so thankful that He did. 2007 gave birth to both our dreams of being a Delta and being a part of a " Sisterhood" that spans the globe. A few months after we crossed she was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer and had to immediately take action. Long story short she is now finished with chemo, lump removed and will start her radiation treatments after Christmas. Through it all she has remained strong and leaning on God. She is my hero and as I see her move through this journey there has been a new level of respect that I have for my sister, my SOROR....MY BACK! Oh, and today is her birthday...so yall can send her the biggest ooooooo-oooooop you can must and I will past it on...smile!

hey Sorors I am still trying to read through all 15 or so pages of this thread but here is a poem I wrote during my process....

A DELTA’S KWANZAA

It is new to me
But a celebrated tradition for many others.

It is the celebration of LIFE on the soils of Mother Africa,
It is the celebration of LIFE on the soils that which our ancestors once walked,
It is the celebration of the MUSTARD SEEDS that holds faith for us in our futures.

We light our candles
And smell its scent as it burns
A scent that will disappear
But a flame that is forever….ENDLESS.

We move our bodies gracefully to the music for this day
But we move with the power, the spirit, the energy,
And the silent emotion of a modern praise dance.

We drink of the water that provides all living things life
We eat of the harvest that provides us strength

It is then that we come together as One
We come together in Umoja(unity
We come together in IMANI(faith) and KUPENDA (love)
For ourselves, for our teachers, for our people
But mostly for the victory of our struggle!

From one poet to another...this is just lovey soror!

MeezDiscreet 12-27-2007 12:31 PM

Alright sorors, we gotta get back on track! ;)

442. Sorors who love our sorority so much that they pen lovely poems

lovechild1913 12-27-2007 01:47 PM

thank you sorors

DivineDiva47 12-28-2007 04:48 PM

443. I love the way that my back and I can commincate without saying a word.
444. The fact that a soror gave one of my line sisters her flats because her feet were hurting.

445. I love that when I run into a soror that I have never seen and we hug like we'd been sisters all our lives.

Those are my .13 cents!
