Thanks for the information, BBH. I think being from a high school that sends a lot of girls to the university and Greek life can be a blessing or a curse. If the girl is the popular "homecoming queen" that everybody knows, sure it helps. If the girl was involved in more specific activities . . . just using an example but say they were a member of the color guard . . . the girls currently in the sororities might feel they hung with different crowds and write them off as "not fitting with our chapter" when in fact they have a lot to bring to the table.

Congratulations to all of the other lovely women who received bids! I hope that they find everything they are looking for--happiness, support, sisterhood--both within their chapters and within the greater Panhellenic and Greek community. :)

An update for everyone following my experience...I survived two back to back Big 10 recruitments! My IU twin is settling in happily with Theta. My PSU daughter pledged my legacy chapter--DG. There were highs and lows along the way with some disappointing drops from chapters that they loved. But, both are very happy as they are starting the process of settling in with their pledge classes. :)

Looks like DPhiE had a heck of a recruitment (combined formal and informal), based on this picture. Way to go!

That is fantastic!

So is ASA the only unhoused chapter now at IU?

Ok I am quite late to the party (haven't been on GC in a while..) and not sure anyone is still reading this thread!?!? But beyond excited about all the happy feels in this thread. Such a wonderful departure from years past. And can't BELIEVE all the Theta endings! So many! Welcome to each and every one of your daughters. The BETA chapter. Holy Moly the history there and that HOUSE. They are in for not just an amazing 4 years but a lifetime of special memories and sisters. <>~~8~~. Congrats to all the other parents and PNMs/new members for surviving IU recruitment.
<waves to AZTheta. Miss you! > |

Any word on how Recruitment went this year with regards to numbers? It certainly was a large group on the tennis courts that night. I hope there are a lot of happy new members! |
