Well, I really and truly hope that Nikko does officially come back. If he does, I don't think his fans will forget that he got voted off before - they will be out in force and hopefully that will knock Constannoying out early. :D

BTW - anyone here that is a fan of Constannoying? I mean seriously - usually we have some small controversy (um hum...trouble always finds OTW and AXO ;) ) about contestants, and so far, I think we are agreed on this one -- scary!! :eek:

I also think it's legal trouble. While I really don't think he's a criminal or whatever, I'm thinking it's some kind of eligibility issue.

Ditto on Constannoying. Ditto on AI's version of the Bash Brothers, period. I have to admit that I haven't been keeping up with this season as much as previous ones, but I will say that Mario was my favorite from the beginning, and the only one I really paid attention to.

Perhaps Mario withdrew before he was "outed" by the media? It's weird how NO ONE's saying anything about the situation.

That really sucks about Mario. He was one of my favorites. But down inside I am happy that Nikko is back in. But I didn't want him to be back in the show this way. I wanted him to earn his spot and get it over Constantine. But now I have my favorite person back in!! I agree with whoever said that Nikko's fan will be voting in overtime to ensure that he won't be kicked off right away.

Anyone think Mario could have been offered a contract if he left Idol? It seems strange that he would just leave for undisclosed "personal reasons."

I know that once you make it past a certain point, you must sign a contract saying that you're the "property" of American Idol for a set period of time, regardless of whether or not you remain or stay in competition. You aren't allowed to sign a recording contract with anyone until your time with Idol is over.

This is true. 19E owns your soul until after the season and tours are over if you don't win. This is even if you don't get beyond Hollywood... but make it there.

And this also includes any TV time. In order to avoid another Will Hung situation, 19E made everyone sign a contract that if they were shown on TV and didn't make it, they wouldn't go bouncing off to some record label until after the season. This is per TWoP, so take it for what it's worth.

Sadness about Mario... I figured he was the golden boi but now I wonder what they will do now that he's gone? Pimp Carrie to no end? I hope they aren't going to pimp Constantcrap... my guess is that they'll try to make Anwar the man. At least he can sing and seems interesting. Mario, though he could sing, seemed forgettable IMO.

I'm glad Nikko is back though. Like someone already said I didn't want him back in this way, but I am glad he is back. His last performance blew me away :)

I was listening to the radio this morning, and they were talking about the contract scenario. Apparently when you get locked into the top 10 (the ones who travel and tour) and eventually would get a record deal or whatever, AI will take up to 50% of what you're pulling in, and apparently normal managers/agents will get a 15% cut, so its a big difference. I think they were just making assumptions, but they thought he got offered a record deal, and so he wanted to get out before he made top 10, that way he can get more money, better exposure, etc. Cuz, by him doing this, anyone that didn't know his name before will definitely know it now.

On the radio this morning all I heard was he left for "personal reasons".
