Hey I am looking for a cute saying to put on a shirt with matching letters for me and my "real" little sister.... we are in different chapters at different schools... any clever ideas?

I've just scrolled through all these pictures of letters -- and the Bid Day Pics, too. They are all so bright and creative!

When did letters become de rigueur? Did they begin in one region and just go viral?

Do chapters have one set of letters (often made by a member and a helpful dad) that they repaint each year? Are they repainted seasonally (=Christmas, or for a themed party during the year)? Or do they make new sets? (That would become a storage problem very quickly.)

I wish I had seen more NPHC letters etc. in my undergraduate years. I was really only aware of a few multicultural (Asian) groups, NPC, IFC, TBS, KKPsi, and APO. I don't know to this day which chapters were represented at my alma mater.
