IrishLake 07-28-2011 08:42 AM

I think they do over the weekend. I'll have to DVR it.

Jill1228 07-28-2011 03:14 PM

I have finally watched an epi thanks to TLC On Demand

Um, no. Your 3 year old needs her bottom smacked.

The mama needs to be smacked! When Olivia said "I see it, fool" to her mama, I was like
Oh. HELL. naw! I wish I WOULD talk to my mama like that. She'd beat me like I owed her money

Don't get me started on flat ironing and coloring the horse. I was too through

Word! To quote Love Actually: "He's gayer than a maypole"
To quote Seinfeld "not that there's anything wrong with it"

Now to download the other epis...

I love Alaska. What she said to her mother was the truth:
"You ARE one of the crazy moms!"
It is such a train wreck

gaangel5 07-28-2011 07:57 PM

Jill - you HAVE to see the rest of them. I'm slowly watching as them come on TLC. I watched the "cheese dip" one last night. OMG, it was sooo funny when the little girl won $100 and said she wanted to buy some cheese dip and the mom said "do you want to buy some cheese dip for everyone"?' What do you think the bratty little girl said, "NO." One of the original shows had a little girl from my county here in Georgia. These moms are CRAZY!!!

BetteDavisEyes 07-28-2011 08:49 PM

Last night's episode wasn't as bad as some of the other ones in regards to insane & crazy pageant parents. Something that keeps bugging me is when parents compare their pageant kids to each other b/c there is always one that they claim is way cuter, smarter, better than the other and in the case of last night's sisters, the older one was aware that her mom was certain the younger sister was going to win Grand Supreme & she would maybe get a recognition award. Why do parents do this? Some episodes back, there was the mom who was certain her bi-racial son was the CUTEST thing to walk this planet & her blonde haired, blue eyed daughter was average. WTF is wrong with these parents?

Although we never did pageants, my mother was notorious for comparing her kids. I was not only compared to my siblings but also to my cousins. I grew up knowing I was never pretty enough, popular enough or smart enough for my mother. Wish these parents could look into a magic ball and see how much it permanently affects a child when you are always comparing them to each other rather than relishing in what your child has accomplished on their own.

There was a mom of twins on in a past ep who pretty blatantly said that she favored one twin because she won more. Disgusting.

WORD!

My grandmother needs that memo. Not only does it affect the child, it affects the relationship between the siblings

I was watching it when DH came home. He just said: um no! Hell no! Really?
Then retreated downstairs :D

I caught up on some more episodes I haven't seen and also last night's episode. Some of them had me laughing at some of these moms. Talk about being catty & bitchy! Bad mouthing other little girls for winning when clearly, their daughter is way better looking than the little girls who did win. Obviously, you can only win if the judges are your friends.

The little girl who kept wanting to be spray tanned b/c she wanted to look like Beyonce was interesting. And who the hell lets their kids dress like Lady Gaga? WTH?!?

I'm confused as to why Baylen won Queen when she didn't do anything on stage. She'd go up there & try to run off, not smile or just sit on the floor. Were the other little girls worse? Her mom is in serious denial about how cute she thinks she is and how she loves pageants. It's pretty obvious Baylen doesn't care for them.

Good for Emerald winning the Supreme title. I liked her. She was a cutie.

Was it the Sparkle girls? That mother - there were 5 girls in that family doing pageants - said one of the girls had a bigger nose and wasn't as pretty. If I recall correctly, the "favored" twin acted up and got hauled off (pretty appropriately) by the dad.

Was that the episode with the babies whose mother said she spent $250,000 on pageants? Because I believe she said one baby won more than the other.

it's on right now.

is it a requirement that t & t contestants have a speech impediment? i can't help but think that the kids would be better off if all the money spent on entrance fees, clothes, hair spray and "flippers" was spent on speech therapy.
