Anyways....here comes the 2nd Android tablet competitor...stumbling out of the gate at 800 bux....it's the XOOM!

WTF? I read some stuff on it last week and was pretty intrigued. For that price...not going to happen. I would consider getting a Wifi only model but...it has that stupid stipulation. I'm not a huge fan of Apple but they handled the iPad correctly. Just let people buy the product Wifi only. My cell phone bill is enough I wouldn't even want to use a tablet like it was a cell phone; especially since free wifi is plentiful.

For that price, you may as well get a laptop. For the money that you would pay for the data plan you can get a....well you know.

Hey comic people, I was over at kotaku.com and someone asked why there hasn't been a Marvel vs DC game. I pretty much said that DC villians are better than their heroes (which can be pretty bad to me)

Joker > DC Villians > Marvel Heroes = Marvel Villians >>> DC Heroes

As you can tell I love the Joker. :D

and you picked an Alex Ross picture...CG...he is one of the best comics artists in the industry right now bar none...he has done some excellent work depicting DC characters as less than lame.

Oh, I like the artwork, I was just making fun of DC characters. Oh, and who does the artwork in the tv series? It comes on cable sometimes. I've seen a Batman one and a Superman one. The artwork is incredible.

Windows Update question: Earlier, my computer was telling me that it needed me to restart it so I could get "Important Updates" or I could postpone it. It's really annoying because it slows my computer way down, and then it's incredibly annoying when I'm in the middle of updating my clinical case log. It tells me that I have 15 minutes, so I'll postpone it, then I'll forget, then it shuts off and does this annoying "configuration" that takes like, forever. What is so important that it wants me to have?

It's already installed the updates and can't complete until you reboot. I suggest making your updates non-automatic or scheduling them for something like.. Saturday so that it doesn't interfere during your work/study time. Then you can plan on the reboot rather than having it consistently popup.

Security updates and patches.

Most of that stuff you will need.

My geek random for today is kind of hilarious. When I checked my mail today, not only did I get my NAVLE results back, I also got something from my mom. She was doing some cleaning, and she ran across my paper I wrote in a science fair I was in for extra credit in my science class. I looked at the date, May of 1995. I was 12 years old. It was on black holes. lol. I'll post some of what I wrote.

"Hi, everyone. My name is "L" and my science project is on black holes. I am not a scientist, and I don't know as much about physics as an astrophysicist, but I know enough to resolve some of the problems that astrophysicists struggle with. There's another universe inside black holes. Kind of like baby universes. Somewhere deep inside a black hole, a piece of space breaks off and forms a tiny, self contained universe disconnected from our portion of space-time. I always think of helium balloons slipping away and disappearing. All the information that ever fell into the black hole gets trapped in the baby universe. So, this solves the problem. I don't think the information is destroyed like a lot of astrophysicists believe, I believe it's just floating out there in hyperspace or omnispace or metaspace or wherever it is that baby universes go. Eventually, after the black hole evaporates, the rift in space heals, and being disconnected, the stranded bits of information become totally unobservable. I know baby universes exist because our universe is expanding. Perhaps each baby universe also expands and eventually matures into a universe with galaxies, stars, planets, dogs, cats, people, and it's own black holes. It may be possible that our own universe originated this way. But as a solution to the problem of lost information, it simply begs the question. Physics is about observation and experimentation. If baby universes carry off information that become unobservable, the results of our world will be exactly the same as if information were destroyed".

Then I wrote something about how I know this to be true. I used a bathtub to prove my point. lol

"Imagine drops of ink falling into a tub of water, carrying a message -drip, drip, drop, drop, drop, space, drop, drip. Soon, the sharply defined drops begin to disolve, the message gets hard to read and the water becomes cloudy. After a few hours, all that's left is a uniform tub of slightly gray water. Although from a practicle point of view, the message is scrambled, the principles of Quantum Mechanics ensure that it's still there among the huge number of moving molecules. But soon the fluid starts to evaporate from the tub. Molecule after molecule escapes into empty space, ink as well as water, eventually leaving the tub dry and empty. The information is gone, but not necessarily destroyed. Though scrambled far beyond recovery by any practical scheme, not a bit of information has been erased. It's obvious what has happened to it. It's been carried off in the evaporation products, the vaporous molecular cloud escaping into space".

There's like 10 more pages lol. And as I can remember I used a pan, water and ink to show what I was talking about. I got an A on the project, but when I read it now, although there is some truth to some of it, it makes me laugh so hard. I was such a nerd.:p

Computer question (for Daemon). My Norton account is about to expire, but it's giving me an option to upgrade. I still have 7 days left. I was just wondering if I should get the upgrade or should I just get what I was getting before?

Marvel vs Capcom 3 = Win!

I decided to go with an upgraded version of Norton. I don't know why I decided to do that when I know nothing about computers. For some reason my computer keeps reminding me to renew, but I decided to buy a new upgrade instead. It was only $10 bucks more so, I went with it. It's downloading now, and it says it's going to take about an hour. I'm just gonna take my laptop to my friend to see if she can get rid of my old Norton. Now, I kinda wish I would've just renewed the one I already had. Now, I'm afraid that my computer is gonna catch something.:(

I am so late on this...but CG, I don't use Norton's and haven't in almost 10 years. It's a system resource hog that sometimes does more harm than good. You can get free AV software that works as well as if not better than nortons.

Ya know, my friend told me the same thing. I remember when none of my USB ports would work. She told that because I didn't install the CD for my camera, it didn't recognize it or something like that, so it shut down all of my ports, except for the one my verizon wireless card is plugged into. She said Norton is part of why my computer runs slower than it should. She said the good thing about Norton is that it doesn't let anything through. What's AV software?

9 months away...Dragon Age II in a few days...get the demo while ya wait!

I've gotten to some pretty high levels in GT5. Truly an amazing driving simulator. I still haven't seen any damage, but my best friend told me that it's there. He said it has to be turned on. He's going to walk me through it today and tell me where it is. If it's got damage in it, then hands down, it beats Forza. Racing sims have to have body and mechanical damage. It's not a driving simulator if it doesn't.

I've been doing really well at it, though. I've gotten to these levels and I've earned enough money to purchase some really sweet cars.
