Also known as your ex-coworker. (That's why he had to leave, no office romances)

Can we please not put salt in my wounds. I've been crying all morning staring at his empty desk knowing that there's now an empty hole in my heart.

That's hot.

Getting back to the original topic (WOW.. Talk about thread drift!)

A petition won't help, but if we petite-type-women all take the time to write to each chain's general headquarters, it might have some impact.

Also.. money talks. If those of us who are petite sized stop buying regular sized clothing and having them tailored at our own expense, the stores might get the message. Just say NO to tailoring!

Have you also noticed that some of the petite sizes have grown? Eddie Bauer and some pants at Bloomingdales now have a 30 inch inseam that they call "Petite", NOT the normal 28! UGH!

I actually am quite pleased with the size of my breasts. I wouldn't resort to painful and risky surgery just to buy clothes off the rack.

I have the problem of button-up shirts popping open between the buttons. But I have a clever solution: I cut a piece of double sided toupe tape and stick it between where it is popping open. You can buy the toupe take at Sally's Beauty Supply, or other beauty supply stores.

Thanks for the great idea.

I have chronic back problems from an accident about nine years ago and having large breasts doesn't help any.

bumping because it's a tragedy that Miss Universe only has tall women in the pageant.

Gap has started a petite and tall section as well. Initially it is just online until they see how well it will do and then it would be moved into stores.

Best.thread.ever.

I actually had to leave my desk a couple of times at work because I was laughing so hard.

If I cannot find something in my usual size, I go to the petite section and get the next larger size in Petite. For example, a regular 6 is the equivalent to an 8P. At least it is like that in Ann Taylor/Loft.

petites/plus size, yall do not have it harder than anyone else, you just have to LOOK for the clothes like the rest of us, and while it may take a little more time there are cute things out there for both of yall ... not all of the stuff is frumpy and outdated. i know because i go shopping with my mom and she's 5'1 and finds stuff all the time. so stop your bitching and moaning.

SWTXBelle 01-21-2008 09:29 PM

Everyone (well, maybe not the .5% of the population built like a model) is going to have problems getting clothes that fit. I am petite, small-breasted and I am short-waisted. It's really hit or miss for me. Just this weekend I went shopping. Why is everything cut so low now? Between the small breasts and the short waist, nothing with a "v" will work. Petite sections do tend to be dowdy, but with the internet it is possible to get almost anything made in petite sizes delivered to your home. I just have to try everything on - which I hate - but, in the grand scheme of things, no biggee.
