Just tell us whether you were going N or S (or, depending on what part of 485 you're on, E or W).

Haven't you noticed...that's the new thing they're trying to use (and I'm trying to get used to) because of it being a loop, if you say you're going south, you could be over by the Airport heading to 77 or you could be leaving Concord Mills, heading for Matthews.

oh yall can eat me about the GA and SC drivers being bad...haha, I know Florida isn't really a part of the south, but they have the WORST drivers in the United States, hands down. Of course, it's Florida, so probably 70 percent are from the northeast...

I dunno. I’ve lived in both FL and GA and I’d have to say that both states have equally bad drivers but in different ways. FL has the old people who drive really slow, take up two lanes and can’t see over their steering wheel. FL also has the young drivers who think they’re cool in their tripped out cars; they weave in out of traffic going 100mph down the Interstate. GA drivers, on the other hand, drive pretty fast but don’t really pay attention to the cars around them. I’ve seen a bunch of accidents here because people switch lanes without checking to see if there’s another vehicle already there. Also, the drivers in GA are a lot meaner. If you’re trying to pull out of a parking lot onto a busy road, good luck trying to get someone to let you in. People will pull up close to the car in front of them so that you can’t get out.

So you are in Florida? Where at? I'm unfortunately in south Florida.

ETA: And I hate it here.

No, no, i'm in Alabama, the Beautiful. You're right though, it is different. GA drivers (Atlanta) are ridiculous, but at least you get where you're going. Granted, if you're not used to driving 100 mph through traffic, its gonna be harsh to you. However, I hate FL because I always get stuck behind somebody going like 35 in a 60. Oh, and sorry about you being in south Florida...theres not enough money in the world that would persuade me to live there.

Which is precisely why I'm moving back to Tuscaloosa this summer!

I usually always drive 15 miles over the limit (heh...) and Florida traffic was so aggravating to me. I would always get stuck behind slow drivers, also. Everyone in Atlanta goes at least 15 over or more. There's been a few times where I've looked at my speedometer and realized I was going 90mph...and that was the same speed as the rest of the traffic!

Wait, so shinerbock, you are from Georgia and go to school in Alabama, just like I did. Where do you go to school?

BobbyTheDon 01-26-2006 06:05 PM

I think I've heard it all.

"Alabama the beautiful" and " You can't pay me to live in South Florida".

Ok, I might actually have to agree with you on the south florida part. But Alabama the beautiful? Where are you comparing it to, Bosnia? I've been to Alabama. The only thing beautiful about it are the women.

You mean they aren't like this everywhere? I HATE driving in Georgia ... I've never driven anywhere else - now I have one more reason to be excited about moving later this year! (Just wish I knew where I was going ...)

I'd say Alabama is pretty beautiful. It's one of only a handful of states that go from mountains to ocean.

On that same note, California is gorgeous as well.

valkyrie 01-26-2006 06:11 PM

There are mountains in Alabama?

kk_bama 01-26-2006 06:12 PM

Mississippi is a totally different story, yes. The only thing I've gone there for is casinos.

Yes, the Appalachians originate in Alabama. Brian's dad lives on top of a mountain, actually.

ETA: With his family. In a house.

While Florida drivers suck, they were nice enough to let out drivers stuck in a parking lot. They're also not as quick there to hit their horn or wave their middle finger. That's about the only good thing with Florida drivers.
