Beyonce is planning a new release — her own fashion collection. The Destiny's Child singer has signed a licensing agreement with the Tarrant Apparel Group to produce a line of apparel for young women. She named the House of Dereon collection after her grandmother Agnes Dereon, who worked as a seamstress.

Controversial radio personality Wendy Williams just reported on her show that it is a rumor going around that Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child has called off her engagement to Dallas Cowboy's Roy Williams. She said that when proposed to, Rowland initially said yes, however, now that she's had time to think about it, apparently she has changed her mind. She states that Rowland has been calling guest and notifying them by mail that the wedding has been called off. However, a representative for Rowland said that the rumors are false and that Rowland and Williams have only changed the date of the wedding not called the whole thing off. Who knows?

Don't look for Leroy on AI again anytime soon...
American Idol hopeful watches performance from jail
Last Update: 1/27/2005 2:00:16 PM Posted By: Ron Reams Watch this video (MOBILE, Ala.) January 26 -- An American Idol hopeful, gaining notoriety, but not just for his shot at stardom. T-V viewers found Grand Bay's Leroy Wells on national T-V Tuesday night. However, on Wednesday, the would-be could be found in Mobile Metro Jail. While millions of American Idol fans kept it locked into Leroy, Leroy was locked up behind bars for failing to appear in court. The 22-year-old Grand Bay, Alabama native wowed fans with his rendition of "Got Your Money" by O-D-B. Even though he wasn't able to watch his performance from home, sheriff's deputies tell NBC 15 they did allow Leroy and other inmates to watch American Idol from jail. Mobile Police spokesman Marcus Young says Leroy Wells was arrested earlier this month for reportedly shooting a hand gun into an occupied vehicle. Apparently they were arguing over how the cars were in the roadway at which time Mr. Wells allegedly shot the victim in his hip, Young says. “Family members say because Leroy is a “pretty boy,â€? he gets picked on a lot, which explains why he may have been carrying a pistol to protect himself. His brother, Ryan Peyton tells NBC 15 News: "A lot of people picks on him and he's had that problem since he's been a kid. As he got older he just got tired of it and so he took measures into his own hands". According to Mobile County Sheriff's department records, Wells has a prior criminal record including seven other arrests. The charges range from disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana, to carrying a pistol without a permit. His brother says despite those incidents, Leroy is destined for stardom and would not go as far as shooting another human being. “I'm saying he didn't do it.Â_ It's all hear-say from what I know.â€? Wednesday, Leroy’s family had trouble coming up with bond money, some $11,000, but later were ableÂ_to come up with the money.Â_Leroy wasÂ_released from custody early Wednesday evening. |

MISS JONES SUSPENDED FROM
HOT 97: Action taken over tsunami parody; Asian rapper Jin responds. *New York DJ Miss Jones and her morning show crew on New York's Hot 97 were suspended indefinitely Wednesday for airing a tasteless song parody that made fun of the tsunami victims and referred to them in racist terms. "What happened is morally and socially indefensible," said Rick Cummings, president of Emmis Radio, in announcing the disciplinary action. "All involved, myself included, are ashamed and deeply sorry. I know the members of the morning team are contrite. They know their actions here are inexcusable." The song, a parody of the charity single "We Are the World," aired last Friday on the Emmis station WQHT-FM, known locally as Hot 97. Afterwards, the station was bombarded with thousands of angry phone calls demanding Miss Jones (a.k.a. Tarsha Jones) be fired. The DJ offered an on-air apology, and the station initially announced that she and a half-dozen other members of the morning team would donate a week's salary to tsunami relief. The station, in a statement posted on its Web site, said management later decided "stronger action was necessary to demonstrate the severity of the situation." As previously reported, the song included references to "screaming chinks" "drowning Africans" and orphaned children "sold into child slavery." The chorus began, "So now you're screwed, it's a tsunami, you'd better run ... go find your mommy." The indefinite suspension of Jones, her sidekick Todd Lynn and others was not enough for some politicians. Others had called for advertisers to boycott the station and for Emmis to fire its staffers - a move supported by City Councilman John Liu, whose Queens district includes a large Asian population. "It's clearly not sufficient," Liu said. "Miss Jones and Todd Lynn need to be terminated, taken off the air permanently." *Meanwhile, Chinese-American rapper Jin, known best for his seven- week undefeated run on "106 & Park's" Freestyle Friday competition before being retired to the "Hall of Fame," fired back at the Hot97 parody in a new dis track. According to SOHH.com, the song - set to Jay-Z's "Breathe Easy" - contains lyrics aimed at Miss Jones, calling her a "no-talent wannabe shock jock." At the end of the song, he tells Miss Info, who is part Asian and the only member of the morning crew to denounce the song, to "keep your head up, Ma." Jin also says in the song: "F*** the Tsunami song and whoever thought of it. / Matter fact, f*** the engineer that recorded it. / And the brains behind the scenes, that applauded it/ Anything for ratings huh... the sh** is corporate/ That little bullsh** statement has got to be/ the world's most half-assed apology/ Thousands are still getting discovered each day/ how dare you compare a life to a week's pay." According to SOHH, Jin is calling for folks to protest the Hot97 parody by directing complaint letters to the station's sponsors - including Reebok, McDonalds and SprintPCS. |
A Cosby "grandkid" passes
on the Cosby front, Everett Wilson, 17, who was little (i believe baby) Nelson Thibodeaux on The Cosby Show, died in a car crash on LI. check the link:
matpublish.bits.baseview.com/NR/index/286803491605323.php very sad. his future looked bright. i feel bad for his family, in particular his twin brother:( |
i'm on a roll today, but it's not the best of news:(
Bill Cosby, per Cynthia McFadden/ABC News, stated that there was a consensual relationship between he and the accuser. he did not molest her in anyway, ditto on drugging her. hmmm...so Mr. Cosby is a dog, but not an attacker...okay. that i can see. as for the wife, Camille Cosby, i wonder what she's thinking? and this all comes out on their forty-first anniversary:( Happy Anniversary, indeed:mad: |
