And to piggyback off my Soror, "they" (meaning these random undergrad and grad women that you refer to) fully remember when they were in the "hotseat." And guess what? NOTHING WAS HANDED TO THEM! Same goes for the women before them, the women before them, so on and so forth. EVERYTHING you need to know can be found on the website of the "respective sorority." If it's not there, it's not for you to know.

And it's obvious that you haven't lurked for a long enough while (NOR read the P.O.W.) or else you would know the answer to your question.

Indecisive 02-19-2007 09:58 PM

To all of those that have responded...

Is it your pretentious, elitist mentalities that forces you to attack? Or is it the good ole feeling of being on the other side that makes you feel grand?

As I previously stated, my question is in general and not directed to this messageboard.

Just because a person didn't have something handed to them, doesn't mean that they didn't have someone to aid them along the way.

Greek life's longevity is based on membership...when a worthy, hard working candidate shows an interest in a respective organization they should be met and analyzed with warm welcoming arms, instead of "I've got mine, you get yours" behaviours.

How would you feel if, when you were down on your knees praying, you heard a voice from the heavens say, "You should log onto www.holybible.com for those answers." Or, "Everything you need to know is in the good book."

To the poster that questioned my username..what does it have to do with the question at hand? I knew what it meant when I chose it...it dexcribes how I felt at that particular moment.

Because I posed this question in the AKA forum, does it automatically mean that I'm interested in joining AKA? How do you all know that I'm not already greek?

I aked a question for obvious reasons...for those that see this as their opportunity to "straighten" me while posting nasty, harsh comments, please fall back...because it's not that serious.

Factoid: Every AKA that I know ( and I know plenty) has not been active since their undergrad days.

Trollquisha,
You posted your nonsense to the AKA message board. Oh, and regarding your "factoid", since you know "plenty" AKA's, why don't you ask them your little question instead of bombarding our space with your insignificant chatter.

Thanks,
One of the members of the "Tired of Trolls and Trollquisha" club

ESP...gotta love it!
So I guess:
1. You won't choose (to submit to)AKA. PLEASE DON'T!!!!
2. You won't post on this OR ANY OTHER Alpha Kappa Alpha Forum (public or private)!
3. You will choose ANOTHER sorority (keeping fingers crossed)

Thanks!
We appreciate it!

See ya!

You really let us have it. Obviously, SOMETHING was serious enough for you to go through the trouble of finding this site, clicking register, selecting a screenname, filling in the required information, waiting to be approved, selecting this particular forum, looking for the SF thread, typing your question, awaiting responses, and typing your witty reply.

The fact still remains, whether you are interested in AKA, DST, ZPB, SGR, or any other sorority under the sun, NOTHING IS HANDED TO YOU. If you were already greek, as you may want us to believe, you'd know what I was talking about. However, since you continue to beat a dead horse, you obviously aren't. Don't get testy because you didn't get the warm and fuzzy answer that you may have been seeking. And since you had an "obvious" reason for posting this question and got the answers you were looking for, you are free to press on.

Either I:

1) Got under someone's pink n green skin
2)This is how you all deal with people on and off screen
3)This behavior is representative of your organization as a whole...or
4)It really took some of you 3 days to pledge and the whole being "sisterly" act hasn't had time to sink in.

I bid you adieu with a big, ear piercing, pink n green...

SHEEEEEEEE WEAK! SHE WEAK, SHE WEAK, SHE WEAK!

AKA2D '91 02-19-2007 11:37 PM

So Sad! So Sad!

So typical. New game, please! New game!

It's two thousand and SEVEN, can these fools get something BETTER to talk about? Dayum!

No creativity! We've seen the same trollisms on this site for years.

Hi Indecisive,

Whichever sorority you decide to join, remember that first and foremost we are all service organizations. We are a selfless, benevolent group of women who's ultimate goal is to help and serve others. It takes a very special woman to carry out the goals and mission of a sorority. It takes a very special woman to cross and then stay financially active for years to come, and commit herself to the goals of the sorority. It says a lot about a woman's character when she can take herself out of her comfort zone, deal with advesity and yet still acheive her goal, it says she worked for hers and the likelihood of her sticking around to carry out the sororities missions are high.

There's an imbalance between financially active and inactive members in all the sororities. I never like to assume why someone is inactive but the reality is that we need active sorors to carry out the mission. We need women who will give of themselves freely and willingly. And it's those women who put up with whatever they had to, just to get in that in the long run you can count on.

To wrap this up, my point is that if your true mission is to help others, dealing with evasive members should be a minor thing... it's just another hurdle to prove how strong you really.

Good Luck to you and remember Strong sororities, need strong members.

Good evening Lovely Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated,
I have been on the site for a few weeks absorbing all I can. I wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for having a place where sisterfriends can interact with members. God bless each of you!
Although wonderfully made,
I'mJustMe

Yes, you did get under someone's skin. Trolls make us itch. Yes, this is how we handle folks on and off screen. No need to discriminate. Yes, this is a representation of the organization as a whole. I mean, any college level stats class will tell you that three folks is a perfect sampling of over 100,000 women.

Did you make that little chant up all by yourself? Are you on one of those pictures over on DST Ave.?

Who are you talking to? The fact is, you come to this community, there are rules. One of the rules is that membership/intake inquiries aren't entertained.
