How Come, HOW COME, HOW THE HELL COME!!!??? DAMMIT HC I am pissed? HC it's b/c I have just gotten offa the phone with someone who has NOOOOOO PC skills WHATSOEVER? HC one of the first questions was "What is a mouse?" HC I had to CONTAIN myself? HC this person IS my elder, so I had to remain respectful? HC I am so bent on keeping my word? HC that's why I continued to assist? HC she just wanted to take up a "few minutes" of my time? 55 minutes later HC she wouldn't listen to a damn word I said b/c she was too damn busy saying "Well, you know how stupid I am with this thing...blah blah blah..." HC I wanted to say SHUT UP and LISTEN? HC I sent her an IM with what she needed in it so she wouldn't have to search? HC I masked the link with the text CLICK HERE ON THIS TEXT? HC this is a college educated woman, and she asked me WHERE she should click? HC I said ON THE TEXT? HC she said she couldn't see any text? HC I said, click the words, in the box... the ones that say CLICK HERE ON THIS TEXT? 30 minutes later HC she some how shut her PC down? HC she told me she didn't know how to turn it back on? HC I said push the BLUE botton? HC she said she couldn't find it? 7 minutes later HC she finally asked, "the ROUND one with POWER above it?" HC I was like WTF? HC I said yes ma'am, that's it? HC she asked how to get her mouse over to it? HC I was like NO USE YOUR FINGER? HC she said, "Well you said I had to use the mouse!" HC I didn't know what to do? 15 minutes later HC her 7 year old came in and I walked him through everything? 8 minutes later HC she wanted to keep me on the phone so she could "Write it all down for future reference?" HC I said nooo, you probably want to just take one of those classes at the community center or the Y? HC she said, "Well, I could just call you when I need something b/c I rarely use this thing anyhow...."? HC I was like nooooo, you should take a class... your banking will be going online soon, and you want to be able to keep track of your money on your own time right? HC that was a cop out? HC she said she still doesn't think she needs to take the class? HC I am gon' break it down for her tomorrow? HC I kept my cool the entire time? HC YAAAAYYYY ME b/c I know I can be straight rude when I am frustrated like I was? HC she couldn't tell I was pissed and irritated? HC she didn't need to be able to tell b/c I said I'd help her? HC my 3 year old daughter walked in on me and my husband in the middle of something she should not have seen.
HC we absolutely did not hear her coming or know that she was standing in the doorway for a good 5-8 seconds before we saw her. HC she is completely traumatized right now. HC I sat down with her to talk to her about what she saw and she had this disturbed look on her face. HC she told me that she didn't want to talk about it - but maybe tomorrow she'd feel like. HC later this morning I was listening to my son and daughter playing. HC I was half-asleep, but I heard my 5 year old son teaching my daughter a song. HC he was teaching her slowly, word for word, "I - Like - Big - Butts - But - I - Cannot - Lie - Those - Other - Brothers - Can't - Deny - - - - you know the rest, and as he would say each word, she'd repeat it back. HC that woke me up. HC I was like where did you learn that song (because it's not like we play that around the house). HC he said that he learned that song on SHREK!!!!! HC that goes to show me that I really have to stay on top of monitoring what my kids watch. |
