The dress worn by the girl on the right doesn't make me want to rinse my eyes out with bleach. :) If she had nicer/sleeker shoes and the dress fabric was of better quality, I think it could kind of work.

The girl on her left. Bless her tickety-tackety-tacky heart. :o

Most of them are attractive people who need a fashon makeover. I can tolerate that more than oogamonsters who need fashion makeovers.

RedefinedDiva 06-05-2008 11:28 PM

This poor baby suffers from sort sort of birth defect or maybe she is a little person. Her head is very "grown," as someone stated earlier and look at her arms! She looks like she bench presses! Bless her heart.

I was gonna say she's a little person kicking it with a preschool boy.

But that's an offensive thought. :(

These dresses aren't really that bad. If the chick standing to his left would close that gaping hole in the middle of the chest, as well as lose the net at the top (and possibly, the bottom) the dress would be kinda hot. The other baby doesn't look too bad, but more should have been done with her hair.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...02/purple2.jpg

This is one of the best that I've seen.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...reallysure.jpg

What is going on with the so-called "dress" with the matching hot pants/boy short underwear? Was she auditioning for a role in the "Bust it Baby" video?

The burgungy dress isn't so bad. In fact, I'd give her an award for best dressed! I'm not realy feeling the yellow/golden bolero jacket. Maybe that's the school colors or something...?

The gingham dress, on the other hand.... :sigh:

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...rl02/white.jpg

While I think this is one of the more presentable dresses of the night (it's almost, dare I say, cute), I can't help but to take notice of the woman standing to her right with the all black ensemble, complete with studded bra top and crushed velvet hat.

Yet another :blank stare:

Is it appropriate for a HIGH SCHOOL student. Her boobies are out.

Agreed. What prompted the trashy and tacky prom thing for males and females? It wasn't like this when I was in high school.

I would rock a classier and better-made version of the white outfit. :) One without the cleavage all exposed.

There is not enough room for me to make all of the comments I want to make but I do have one question that has not been brought up. Why do the girls have on formal, (even though they are tre tacky) dresses but the guys have on shorts and jogging suit looking outfits looking like they were going to the swap meet on a Saturday afternoon? Shorts at the prom? That is crazy!

Ummm...does his outfit have leather accents, including the popped collar?
Jesus wept.

naturaldiscretn 06-06-2008 11:25 AM

@ big girl panties....hahahahaha, my face hurts!

He looks like he would sound like Biggie Smalls with the back of the throat air wheezing sound. :(

That's how I imagined it. He might have the fake falsetto, too.

Gold 06-06-2008 12:39 PM

Where are the Mommas????? Oh wait, their mothers are probably 35 and thought that the dress was THE BOMB!!

This is ridiculous. What happened to a David's Bridal dress :(

I'll try to post them again after I save them on my hard drive. The pics are too small, so I'm going to try and enlarge them as well.

CrimsonTide4 06-06-2008 05:30 PM

All of the pictures you posted, Soror Kissy, are red Xs. You can't post pictures from Yahoo. They have to be uploaded and posted from Facebook, picturetrail, photobucket, etc.

Hey CT,
Thanks for the info. A while after posting those pics, I actually remembered you mentioning that a while back. I'm going to repost them after uploading them to photobucket.

AOII_LB93 06-06-2008 08:07 PM

Wow....just wow. None of those kids would have been let in the door at the prom where I teach. They would have all been sent home with dress code violations.

This is shock and awe here....and shockingly awful. Who told any of them (with the exception of burgundy dress girl-that is the least ugly) that they looked good? Did they destroy all of the mirrors in NJ?

And can I just ask...what's with all these HS kids that have tats? My parents would have scraped it off me themselves if I had shown up with a tat in HS...crap they'd probably do it now, and I'm 32!

Most of thier parents took them to get the tats.

Agreed - well, maybe minus the rhinestone dog collar & leash combo that looks like it may actually be linked to her clutch. Although with all of the other ghettofabulousness going on around her, I guess I can't blame her for securing her belongings.

AOII_LB93 06-07-2008 01:48 PM

In the top pic I thought to myself, "Wow, that chick has really buff arms." Then I saw the second one...

thesweetestone 06-07-2008 07:40 PM

The concept of some of these outfits is cute, but the material looks cheap. The hanging boobs and fat rolls don't help the outfits good either.:(

I called it! When I heard "dey know", I was like someone's gonna use that quote and put it on their prom vest..you don't need to immortalize the songs of the moment by wearing the lyrics..that's what the dances are for

and teachers..you're there to chaperone for a reason...don't let things go too far!

I know it's wrong but....DAMN! couldn't she have worn a shawl (sp?), or a dress that doesn't look as tight?!
http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/phot...680059_446.jpg

Looks like she forgot to pay for the rest of her outfit *SMH*
http://photos-007.ll.facebook.com/ph...33759_5004.jpg

someone made a comment..."ursula from 'The Little Mermaid' called, she wants her dress back"..LMAO!

That's unfortunate :o

Boy, times have changed. At my high school, we had several people dress a bit..off...throughout the year, but prom and homecoming were the two events where students showed restraint.

NappyBison 06-09-2008 02:29 PM

:)

My peers never cease to amaze me smh

What school is this BTW? I swear I see this parking lot like every year in a new email attatchment.

ladylike 06-09-2008 02:36 PM

^^^It does seem to be the same school!

If it is, that's a good thing. That means all that tackiness can be confined to one area. :)

cosign :)

and the school is Westmoor High (somewhere in Northern California)

MzMystique1920 06-09-2008 03:26 PM

Before prom when everyone come to your house to see you off and your parents are all excited taking pictures...what in the world do the parents be thinking?

Honeykiss1974 06-09-2008 05:31 PM

Now granted, sistah's dress did remind me of Ursula, but at least hers looked like a prom dress. Everyone else's hot mess of a "dress" look like the leftovers from a cat fight in a fabric shop! YUCK!

I agree! "Ursula's" dress looked very elegant and appropriate. Everyone else, just the hottest mess ever!! What are these parents thinking??

They're not thinking. They're not teaching. These parents are letting BET babysit their kids K-12 and, therefore, brainwashing the kids' ideals about what's hot and acceptable.:mad::mad:
