I loved The Host. Its slow to start but I was just as hooked on it by the end as I was to the Twilight series books.

And honestly, if you want to know about bad writing but still appeals somehow-try the House of Night books. I'm totally addicted but the writing is terrible. I'm still chomping at the bit for the newest book that just came out to be delivered to my door.

I'm not 100% sold on it yet, but I think that's partially due to me expecting Edward to race in any second in a Volvo and drag the main character away. :p However, if it ends like I think it's going to end (I'm about 3/4 through), I'm going to have to agree with everyone on the author taking the easy, neat & tidy cop-out endings.

Is the book worth reading? I've been trying to decide for a few months now whether or not I really want to read it. The whole storyline sounds weird, but I did say those exact words before reading Twilight. Is it better than it sounds?

I wish she would have stopped with the last chapter - the Epilogue ruined it.

I agree that I wish she had stopped sooner. Honestly I wished the same for Breaking Dawn so it seems to be a running theme. :p

I guess she's just one of those authors that feels the need to tie up ALL the loose ends. Although I did want to point out about Renesmee - yes, it's a stupid name, but 18 year olds who have babies [sometimes] name them stupid things. There was a young girl in my OB's office who just had a baby and named it a stupid two-names-mashed-together of her friends that just died in a car accident because they were going 30 miles an hour over the limit around a curve - and yes, that part was included in the explanation of her baby's name.

Oh, and in The Host - I HATED Jared. He was such a ridiculously unsympathetic character, that I wished Wanda just told him F-you. Ian =/= Edward, but I still liked him.

Even though I hate her tendency so far to tie up all loose ends I'm still looking forward to reading something else by her! :p

I liked Ian a lot-I really wish Jared would've dropped off the face of the Earth.

I bought the Host about a month ago when I was in a bookstore waiting to meet my friend....I have yet to read it......mostly because I will not have any free time until the summer!

I read the entire series about a month ago. To be honest, I thought Twilight was just okay and kind of sappy. But I absolutely LOVED the other three books!

A fellow teacher sent me these "What did Edward do while the others were going off and having crazy sex? links from LiveJournal that she recently found and OMG they are HILARIOUS! Enjoy!

Piece of Flair on Facebook: Any girl who says she's never had an imaginary boyfriend has never read Twilight.

It made me giggle (and send it to a friend that also just finished the series).

Sooo, since my cable is out, I decided to peruse Stephenie's website and read all the deleted parts to the books. The Pacific Northwest Trust. I need a boyfriend like that. She even had a link to everyone's cars and motorcycles. :D

I'll try to get back into The Host later today.

I think the editors were right to cut that out of the story - it was sort of humorous, but detracted from Edward's "all or nothing" character.

Edward's Volvo on her website was the EXACT one I had pictured (not even being familiar with Volvos) when I was reading. The one in the movie was disappointing. I do wonder, though, out of all the non-obviously-flashy "flashy" cars, why a Volvo? They're not particularly known for speed, I didn't think... Still, it somehow works.

Can you post a link to the deleted scenes? I can't find them.

Twilight Outtakes

New Moon Outtakes

New Moon Extras (not Outtakes - they're like extra sub-stories, like Midnight Sun started out...)
