First of all, thank you so much for your response :)

I guess this makes sense. If need be, I think our chapter could deal with making the change (we have strong membership numbers thankfully). However this would be a lot of work and I think the general sentiments of the chapter are to keep our own recruitment.

The trick would be if being an associate member of Panhellenic would some how negate the National regulations because you would technically be a member of two organizations in the same Governing Council.

I have been using the search function here on GC and have found in some of the dual membership related threads (though there are few) that this is assumed to be the case when people have brought up the question of being in an NPC and a special interest/local GLO. However, there is very little on this subject that I have been able to find that definitively states the rules :/ We'll find out at formal chapter tonight I hope!

If you're going to Convention, make sure you sign up for the "Great SAI Convention Pair-Up" ! Or, PM me. (: I have two open slots in my room.

AlwaysSAI 06-11-2012 06:06 PM

I just registered for convention! Sooooooooooo excited!

clarinette 06-12-2012 10:54 PM

Woohoo! 3 girls from my chapter and I are going, and I'm super excited!

unarose 06-17-2012 09:46 PM

I registered for convention on Wednesday! There were originally four of us who were going to go, but now it's only two, our VPM and myself. Looking forward to seeing how the Pair-Up results for us. :D

My room is filled--all 4 spots! Myself, the Yearbook Directory Director (kinda my bff ;) ) and two incoming collegiate chapter Presidents! I just have to call the Hyatt and add their names to our reservation.

We should come up with a GC meeting spot!

AlwaysSAI 07-30-2012 08:11 PM

Alright ladies, it's convention week! When is everyone arriving?

My friend and I are carpooling and leaving at about 5am. We should be in Atlanta between 11am and Noon!

clarinette 07-31-2012 12:40 AM

I'm flying out around noon and getting in around 2:15.

unarose 08-01-2012 12:56 AM

We're leaving around 8am…my estimate for being there is 2-3pm or so, depending on interstate traffic and general bathroom/food stops. :) (I originally put 1-2pm estimate, but forgot the time zone difference, lol.)

I'm so excited for:

the MIT musicale and Pre-I (Christmas for the MITs with letters and stuff) tonight
Initiation tomorrow

It's my last initiation with my collegiate chapter. My heart is so full of emotions right now, and I will probably cry at the end, but that's okay. My sisters have given me more than words can express.

AlwaysSAI 04-07-2013 05:25 PM

^^^My last initiation was emotional but it was really senior commitment that did me in. I was bawling like a baby before we even started clasping in.

The best thing is that SAI membership does not end at senior commitment! Alumnae chapters can (and will) offer rich sisterhood.

I liked my collegiate chapter. It is because of those women that I am an SAI. But, I looooooove my alumnae chapter. It is the women of my alumnae chapter that have really taught me about sisterhood.

clarinette 04-08-2013 10:51 AM

I'm also excited for SAI life after college and grad school (I plan on affiliating with the chapter at the grad school I attend if I can). Right now, it's just that we're all in the thick of end of the year things and whatnot.

I'm just hoping I can get through initiation tonight without coughing. I managed to get sick yesterday somehow, and I've got a lot of chest congestion.

clarinette 04-30-2013 01:55 PM

I am one of the newest recipients of the Sword of Honor, along with our outgoing chapter president. I'm so happy to receive this award!

AlwaysSAI 05-06-2013 04:48 AM

^^^^Congratulations!!!! It is a great honor to receive the Sword!

AlwaysSAI 09-10-2013 09:33 PM

Has anyone gotten the summer issue of Tempo! yet? I am waiting anxiously for mine to arrive!
