According to the boy, I was coughing up a lung in my sleep last night. I don't know if I should be thankful I don't remember it, or worried that it could have caused some problems.

Making it through work today was pure torture though. I'm pretty sure customers don't like it when their cashier is coughing like crazy ringing up their purchases.

I'm guessing it's the same with waitresses.
I managed to help out a bit between coughing fits, and spent the rest of the night in the backroom.

Aaaaaand the pain is back. Doctor's appointment next Tuesday. :(

I got the appt pushed up to today. I spent a good portion of today with my head on my desk. The pain was so bad, I couldn't cough, couldn't laugh, nothing. My sinuses are totally rebelling. I got caught in a traffic jam and missed the appt. They were able to fit me in with another doc and now I'm living in a world of antibiotics, nasal steroids, and saline rinses (which btw is NOT soothing, no matter what the box says).

:(

I am clearing up, but I think I canceled it out by going out to drink. I'm starting to feel like horseshit now.

Ooooowwwww my teeth are throbbing. Has it been 7 days yet??? I want to take some motrin to see if that will help but IDK if it will interact with the steroids. I'll go read the box again cuz warm compresses and tea have not helped.

By saline rinse, do you mean the things like a Netti Pot or whatever? Those things terrify me. I'm so terrified of drowning that I can't have any liquid in my nose, so those are never an option for me.

I wish I could have spent the day in the fitting rooms, but I was the only person in my department and we were slammed today.

christiangirl 10-16-2010 03:16 AM

Yes, but it's just the little bottle that you squirt, not the pot. Who puts a tea kettle up their nose? That thing looked scary in the picture.

kappa_dancer 10-16-2010 03:49 AM

Yeah the whole idea of the thing really just doesn't sit well with me in any way.

In March, I got a nasty ear infection because my sinuses weren't draining after a cold. I had a cold a few weeks ago and was a little congested. I noticed that I still can't hear as well, so I'm gonna have to go back to the ear-nose-throat doc. It doesn't hurt, but I keep popping them and I can't hear that well. :(

It's official. I went to the doctor, and I should be either cleared up or dead by the end of the week. Best part: I'm running the office by myself this week. Read as: I've transferred the phones back to my house so I can be comfy.

I'm sorry, but the bold made me chuckle :o I hope you feel better.

I worked from home all of last week, but came back in today. I'm still getting the "OMG YOU'RE SPREADING GERMS!" glares when I cough. Maybe I can work from home for another week...

honeychile 10-18-2010 12:04 PM

Thanks, KS. When I cough, I sound like a lung donor. Better yet, I tend to either puke a little with it or need a depend. It's just soooooooooooooooo attractive!

knight_shadow 10-18-2010 12:11 PM

Not the Depends LOL

Yea, my meds are starting to kick in, so (without getting too graphic) everything in my throat and chest is loosening up and coming out. Not a pretty sight or sound.
