Since the complaint is also that the petite clothing section has matronly clothes, I think that "Shorties under 40" would be an appropriate name.

Too bad it's not shorties drinking 40s.

That's nothing a pair of 5" stilettos and some blue eyeshadow couldn't take care of.;)

Thank you Mimi.

If you're 5'4", you ought to be lucky. I'm 5'2.5"-5'3", and it's a pain in the derrierre to find pants and jeans that is the right length. Capris and gaucho pants are the way to go for me despite making my leg length look shorter. However, I'm used to the fact of getting my pants/jeans altered.

Even the shortest inseam that I buy at Alloy of 30" can't fit me. But hey, I'm used to it. 30" fits people that are about 5'4" and if you're shorter than that, you better have long legs.

33girl, I agree. "Chubby" for a girls plus department store is offensive. And what does "pretty plus" mean? Pretty heavy?

I'm sorry, but those are both a heck of a lot more offensive than petite.

I agree. I don't remember a "Chubby" department, but I was tall and lanky. I do remember husky for the boys.

I have the very difficult problem of having a large cup size (G or DDDD) and a small band size (36). I could never find a bra that fit me right and I was always wearing the wrong bra size (did you know that 85% of women are wearing the wrong bra size?) until I discovered Intamacy, a lingerie boutique with stores in Atlanta, Chicago and New York. (The were even featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show for Oprah's Bra and Jean intervention). They have bras to fit all women, and if they can't get you the perfect ffit, they will taylor the bra to fit you perfectly.

But please don't get me started on finding a bathing suit that looks descent on me. I have not been able to find ANY swimsuit that has enough coverage and support to make me look half way descent. I jsut do NOT go swimming, and i hate it because I know that I am missing out on a lot of good times.

I feel your pain. I'm a 32DDD/F and I hate it. My bras cost more than my outfits. I really want to get the surgery.

I have the same problem. Why can't the fashion industry make clothes for people with smaller frames and big breasts? No matter how much money I end up spending on a swim suit, they don't fit properly. I'm too embarrassed to go out there and risk my top coming off in the middle of a water volleyball game or wave jumping at the beach!

I know that you met your husband while pole dancing at Scores, but not all girls have to resort to such tactics.

Funny, he tells a very different version of the same story.

tunatartare 07-17-2006 09:40 AM
