KLPDaisy rocks...and I just met her!

I can say it because between her, Drolefille and I, we have a Jew, a Catholic and a Protestant...it sounds like the set up to a great joke.

A priest, a minister, and a rabbi walk into a bar. The bartender says "what is this? a joke?"

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Why must you make everything into a drama?

Do I personally like leggings? No, and the thought of them gives me a horrible 80s flashback headache. That said, if you're 18 and you like them, have at it, even if you're somewhere that's not terribly up-to-date fashion-wise, IF you can work it.

There are very few articles of clothing that are never a good idea -- mom pants, baggy tentlike shirts, fake designer handbags -- anything else can work *if* you figure out your own style and what flatters you and then make it work. Twinsets can be frumpy or fab, depending what they look like and what you do with them.

OMG. This is scary. I agree with you! :D

Because you make it out to be like you're the only one who knows what she's talking about, and frankly, your statements are very broad and not that true.

I often like to do that and then throw in a twist...like today, I am wearing a pair of wild pink Marc Jacobs high heels with simple pale grey pants, a white twin set and pearl studs.

But, I guess I am an old lady at 27 :p !

I know, my friends always make fun of me for that too! That outfit sounds very cute, btw. I'm a fan of not so simple shoes with a simple outfit as well. It's a surprising but cute addition to a preppy outfit. :)

Perhaps you should stop taking everything so personally. Do you think that everybody needs to agree with you?

tunatartare 08-03-2006 01:57 PM

at what point did I take what you said personally?

Aren't you the pot calling the kettle black?

Right here:

"Because you make it out to be like you're the only one who knows what she's talking about, and frankly, your statements are very broad and not that true."

No... perhaps you are?

adpiucf 08-03-2006 02:06 PM

I have no idea what that means. Was that an approximate, "I know you are, but what am I?" Seriously.

blueangel 08-03-2006 02:18 PM

Yes.. seriously. Because this whole thread has degraded to a Pee-wee Herman thread.

It's just unfortunate that some people on this forum feel that if someone disagrees with another person's opinion, then it is a personal attack. It isn't.. until someone makes it one.

And, with that said...

I think what to wear depends on where you are going to school. When I was at UF-- the dress at rush (and initiation) was much more conservative than up here in the NY metro area.

What's considered the norm and acceptable, depends on where you live.

OtterXO 08-03-2006 02:24 PM

Since we're completely off topic anyway....some suits just went on sale on jcrew.com. Score.
