This past weekend, Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) at Michigan State University officially received their charter. Congratulations to the new Beta Epsilon Chapter.

Also, it was announced that ZBT will be returning to both University of Virginia (UVA) and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill for Fall '24.

Phi Mu has ceased operations at VCU due to violations of Phi Mu Fraternity policies, University policies, and state and federal law. All NMs were released and may join other NPC sororities and all members are now non-members unless previously notified.

Whoa! Whatever happened must have been really horrible if members are now "non-members" and not alumnae.

When I got the press release, my first thought was "What on earth did they do?"

Nothing about VCU Greek Life surprises me. It's like the wild, wild west, and the Greek Life Office is completely incompetent. I wouldn't be surprised if other Sororities at VCU haze, too.

South Carolina Expansion

In April, the Panhellenic community at South Carolina will hear presentations from Kappa Alpha Theta, Delta Gamma, and Alpha Omicron Pi. I expect a vote will be held after these presentations, but I'm not sure what the plan will be for colonization timing or how many will be offered an opportunity to colonize.

All of these would be bringing a chapter back. Whoever gets selected would certainly have excited alumni! Good luck to the chapters presenting!

Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity has dissolved as a fraternal organization. Founded at the University of California-Berkeley in 1929, the fraternity had nine active chapters when it chose to close.

The fraternity said that its chapters were unsustainable because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, declining university enrollment, and financial pressures.

Delta Delta Delta has received a two year suspension at Elon University(NC). The suspension is due to hazing allegations. Part of the suspension includes not taking a new member class next spring.

Isn't there an additional campus of St John's elsewhere in NYC? I feel like TPA had chapters at both of them.

St. John's University(NY) has the original/main campus located in Queens. The main campus does have a chapter of Theta Phi Alpha.

Besides Theta Phi Alpha, other chapters being affected by the closure are Alpha Phi Delta, Kappa Sigma, and Kappa Beta Gamma.
