fivethirtyeight.com has Spain to win at 54%. So we're essentially even, should be a good game :D
I can't wait to see their analysis afterward to see if they used the numbers the way they should have. It's their first WC analysis. /nerd. |
e viva España!
Olé! Olé Olé Olé!!! |
Oh also, I want to see what Paul the psychic octopus picks. He hasn't missed on so far.

SO glad Spain won!
|
Interesting - I thought this was one of the more boring World Cups I've seen. Too many fouls for this level of play.
I really didn't care much who won, but ended up cheering (somewhat) for the Netherlands when I heard about the fans who have been road tripping since April to get there! That said, it was classy for the man playing for Espana to have a commentary on a teammate (?) who died on his undershirt. Four more years to wait! |
ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

BTW, am I the only person to see a lot of similarities to hockey game play wise? Minus the checking of course.
|
No actually I went to my first hockey game and saw a lot of similarities myself. Hockey's faster paced because of the ice and smaller rink, but gets a lot more substitutions and less time to set up play than soccer does.
Indoor soccer is even more similar! |
Yeah I watched the world cup for the hell of it and enjoyed it quite a bit because of the similarities I saw.
|
drollefille, thanks for all your insight during the world cup. this soccer newbie appreciated it!
