I have sent you a PM regarding the book History of Chi Omega Vol I . However, your mailbox is full. |
Gosh darn (I'm so popular!) LOL
No, it could be I never delete?! OK....brb |
Back to the game...
Which U.S. state has never had more than one Chi Omega collegiate chapter?
a.) South Dakota b.) Wyoming c.) Washington d.) Oregon |
I'd like to guess B. There's one chapter listed for each state, but I've got a feeling that another chapter once existed in South Dakota. Oregon and Washington have two each (Uof Oregon, Oregon State, WSU, and UDub)
|
Yes, yes, yes! (To my knowledge, there is only one four-year college in the state of Wyoming -- no chance of expansion in that state anytime soon!)

Who was the U.S. President when Mary Love Collins began her 42-year term as National President (S.H.) of Chi Omega?
a.) William Howard Taft b.) Woodrow Wilson c.) FDR d.) Harry Truman |
totally guessing 'cause all I can find is her scholarship info....
A! |
Mary Love Collins became S.H. in 1910 and the current President was William Howard Taft. Therefore, I am going to agree that A is the correct response.

Why did Chi Omega not attend the first Panhellenic meeting held in Chicago in 1902?
a.) Chi Omega did not have enough chapters at that time to be considered. b.) The letter of invitation was sent to the National President who was ill with typhoid fever & it did not reach the proper authorities until after the date of the meeting. c.) No one could afford to travel to Chicago. d.) Chi Omega was present at the first Panhellenic meeting in 1902! |
NutBrnHair,
Smiles-we do love Chi Omega history. The current answer is B. Here is some more trivia regarding our early pledge pins. There were two early versions of this pin prior to current one. The first version was the "chapter pin" was used as a stickpin. The second pledge pin consisted of a small stickpin in either gold or silver with the letters Chi Omega. Here's another trivia question: In what year did Chi Omega recommend a plan of a house chaperon to university administrators that currently had Chi Omega chapters that owned their own houses? A) 1945 B) 1932 C) 1922 D) 1912 |
I have no idea, but I'll guess D 1912, because I think our chapter had a house mother from its founding until the chapter closed in 1944 (due to a universal ban on sororities that was lifted in 1979 as a consequence of title IX) and the university bought the houses.
A new question: Which state currently has the second largest number of Chi Omega chapters (according to the list on our website)? A: Pennsylvania B: Ohio C: North Carolina D: B & C E: A & C F: all three states have the same number of chapters |
Quote:
The correct answer is D. Both states have 11 chapters :) |
Correct!
Luvtoscrap, will you tell us the answer to your question? :) I'll have to think on possibilities for the next question I post....hmmm |

Who was the last Chi Omega to serve as Chairman of N.P.C.?
Hint: The year was 1965. a.) Jobelle Holcombe b.) Mary Love Collins c.) Elizabeth Dyer d.) Patty Disque So thats the question. I'm taking out my handy dandy NM Manual from a while back... Mary Love Collins died in 1952, and right underneath that is Elizabeth Dyer, Delta. She was the NPC chair from 1963-1965 :) |

(One correction in your comment, though...MLC was S.H. from 1910-52, but she died in 1972.) |
Oops, thanks ... now as I reread it says "Former Chi Omega National Presidents" and then those are the dates for her! I guess I was just so excited to answer :)
