I bet he meant gs- grandson.
would make more sense.

The1calledTKE 11-19-2001 11:55 PM

True, good point.

DNTKE 11-19-2001 11:56 PM

Here is a TKE Trivia question for you. Name the TKE alumni in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

P.S.
If you are interested in Greeks in Sports, go to the National Interfraernity Conference web site. Pretty cool, but they don't list any of our Fraters for some reason.

The1calledTKE 11-19-2001 11:57 PM

Terry Bradshaw should be the guy your talking about

DNTKE 11-20-2001 12:05 AM

There are several. Think Bears, Bills, Steelers, Giants.
Also think of those Fraters now in the Broadcast booth other than T. Bradshaw.

The1calledTKE 11-20-2001 12:13 AM

Oh ya Halas, Simms,and Levy

The1calledTKE 11-20-2001 09:13 AM

Who were the first two initiates of the new TKE organization?
a. George Smith, Edwin Palmer
b. Mark Casey, Jim Lovell
c. Edwin Palmer, George Thorpe
d. None of the above

Erik P Conard 11-20-2001 01:08 PM

Initiates, Footballers

You got me on the initiates..I always though thatt Jimmie Love was the first inititate, having arrived late for the founding meeting...then I thought Joe Pierson was one of the first, golly
I do not recall discussing this with Tex. yep, got me. But that
might've been KCL...so, I would have to say, "none of the above."
Marv Levy was not only an outstanding athlete, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, was Jewish, and also coached basketball
at Coe College. Truly a talented frater.
Brothers Walter and George Halas, Gamma, were early on the
football scene. Milton Olander, Past Grand Prytanis, may have
been on the list, but doubt it--was an outstanding athlete
Possibly Alex Agase, Jim Grabowski. TKE has never been a big jock house, over-all, in contrast to some others...
Oh, yes, gf=grandfather, gs=grandson, genealogy abbreviations,
sorry...did not mean to be so esoteric!

The1calledTKE 11-20-2001 04:36 PM

Nope the answer is c! Wow I asked one Erik didn't know. I am sure that will be a rareity;)

The1calledTKE 11-21-2001 09:14 AM

What speech is the following quote taken from: " Remember faith as a grain of mustard will overcome mountains of difficulty"?

DeltaBetaBaby 11-21-2001 02:46 PM

Opportunity out of defeat?

The1calledTKE 11-21-2001 05:29 PM

Very good! It's pretty sad when a girl knew it and none of the other guys didn't even dare to take a guess:p

T. Rod O'Neal 11-21-2001 05:36 PM

"until the moon shall wax and wane no more".......

I know the speach very well actually! Just couldn't remember the part about the mustard!

The1calledTKE 11-21-2001 05:40 PM

How could you forget mustard? lol:p

Erik P Conard 11-21-2001 05:47 PM

all right, smarties!

Who said:
"Even a man who is pure at heart,
and says his prayers at night...
will become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms
and the moon is shining bright"
