I'm guessing C.

NutBrnHair 11-11-2003 02:01 PM

No, C is a true statement. In 1978, to celebrate Zeta Gamma Chapter's 50th birthday at the College of Charleston, the chapter donated gates to the college. The gates have the letters chi and omega in gold in the center.

Guess again.

ucfcutie 11-11-2003 11:32 PM

I am guessing E!

You're RIGHT, ucfcutie -- you go, girl.

Every quarter hour from the time when they serve as a campus-wide alarm clock until they say "goodnight" at ten, the Beta Bells ring over Oxford. The Beta Theta Pi campanile was presented to Miami in 1939, a hundred years after the fraternity was founded in the original West Wing of Old Miami.

Time for another question?

No, XOAlumXO...it's not Mary Love Collins. She served as S.H. from 1910-1952 and after that held the titles of Administrative Councilor and President Emeritus until her death in 1972 at the age of 90. (Yep, she was around a looooong time!)

xok85xo 11-18-2003 02:31 PM

I know it wasn't Roslyn Dabbs, so i'm going to say Elizabeth Orman?

xok85xo is correct. Elizabeth Orman passed away while serving as National President in 1979. (I remember wearing a black felt square under my badge for a week.)

The Chi Omega Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Fraternity, began in what year?

a.) 1930, to oversee the funds raised to build the Greek Theatre at the Univ. of Arkansas
b.) 1945, as WWII drew to an end and in preparation for Chi Omega's 50th anniversary
c.) 1978, which makes this year the 25th anniversary of the Foundation
d.) 1992, at the NAtional Convention when plans for the Memphis Executive Headquarters were revealed

Ladies, it is a sad day on the Chi Omega board. Our dear newcomer, NutBrnHair, bastion of Chi Omega knowledge, may have messed up her facts...BUT, I will trust that our dear sister simply made a typo in the D answer.

From chiomega.com

"Founded in 1982, the Chi Omega Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law."

;) :D
