He is responding well to treatment, but this is still very emotional for all of us. I want my father to know his grandchildren and it would crush me to lose him before the baby is born.

This might be just the incentive that your father needs to start taking better care of himself. I'm sure he's not too old to realize that he needs to be around for your mama, and his grandbabies! My prayers are with you, and your family -

And you, too, Leslie!

That is quite possibly the most uplifting thing anyone has said to me recently!! Maybe I can convince my Grams to bake me a chocolate cake while I'm in doing bulletin boards tomorrow... :D

Sherra, your family is in my prayers.

Just asking ya'll to keep a Beta Beta (U of TN-Chattanooga) sister and her family in your thoughts....

Her brother, Josh Bailey, a Kappa Sigma at the U of TN-Chattanooga, died last night in a car wreck... He had just returned home from Iraq 2 months earlier.

This has been a shock to the entire Greek community, especially ADPi and Kappa Sigma. It has not completely set in yet...

Pi Love to All,

Pi Love to All,

Lindz, would you please PM me the addresses of the family & the chapters involved? I'd like to send a sympathy note to each.

Please keep ATO and the entire Ole Miss greek community in your prayers. The ATO house caught fire early this morning and sadly, 3 members perished. There are a few threads on the risk management forum about this with links to newspaper accounts. Such a tragic start to the school year.

ADPiAkron 08-27-2004 02:31 PM

Oh my gosh! That is so horrible! May God bless all involved during this extremely difficult time!!!!!!!

ETA: Pics and article-- the pictures are heart wrenching.

I have a friend who is an advisor there and when I saw your posts, I emailed her. She said the sorority girls are just a mess. I feel so terrible. That house was so beautiful and those poor boys. I cant even imagine. My heart goes out to them, their families, friends, and the college. Its a sad way to start the school year.

I know Ill be giving my girls a talk tomorrow at move in just in case about making sure to not overload the power outlets, and make sure to unplug curling irons, ect.... You never can be too safe. I know they dont know what caused it yet, but its just sooooo sad. :(

Lindsay/Adelphean,
I would also like to send notes to the chapters at UTChattanooga. My boyfriend is a Kappa Sigma alum from UNA, and I don't know if those guys know about it either, but I wanted to tell them information if I could. Please send me an email where to send notes to, also if you don't mind. Email address

Please keep me in your thoughts. My husband came home today and said there is an opening at a plant in Tennessee for a Process Engineer and he is going to talk to them about getting it. The thing is, I love my family and friends in Ohio, but he is not happy with his job.

The economy was so bad when we graduated last year we couldnt find jobs in our fields in the places we wanted to move to so luckily he found one in Ohio at the plant he co-oped for. It wasnt even a engineer job, but a lab job and it took him 6 months and he was able to talk them into moving him up into a quality engineer job, which he doesnt mind. I just want him to be happy and if it means moving to Tenn. Im ok with that.

I am also struggling with finding a good paying job that is somewhat in my field. I always say how much I cant stand Ohio, but now that we are settled and Im getting more involved with being an alum for ADPi and our friends are close, I dont know if I want to move. Its just a frustrating situation. So I need some prayers that at least we figure something out to make us happy. We both just want some good jobs. I hear the town too that we may move to is VERY small and Im not even sure if jobs are avaliable there so I dont know. Im stressed!!!!!!

texas*princess 09-08-2004 05:32 PM

Best wishes to your husband ADPiShannon!!!

I'm in a similar situation... I'm up for an internship position which is REALLY REALLY needed! Mostly b/c I am graduating this December, and have yet to get some experience in my field, and plus it will be a great excuse to leave my current job !!!!

Please keep me in your thoughts and send some good vibes this way!'

Thx :)

I'll remember to pray for both of you, ADPiShannan and T*P!

Life is not worth being miserable at your job. You spend too much of your time at work to hate it- it starts to have an effect on the whole rest of your life when you're miserable at work. I had a job once that I hated so much I used to cry on the way to work every morning. I was sooooooooooooooo glad when I was able to finally leave that job!
