hey curlygirly! i must say that as a future sophomore at UF, you've given me what i need to go through recruitment..again...

just wanted to say thanks for that.

I totally agree!!! Thanks for posting your rush experience in so much detail! I think it's made me more excite for rush, as opposed to nervous and just generally worried. I think many of us Sophomore rushees feel like we're doomed to a very competitive, and by extension, less fun rush experience and this totally changed my mind. Go Gators!!! ^_^

a successful recruitment is never guaranteed to anyone, but i do feel that if you truly go in with an open mind , are happy to accept all invitations, have recommendations to each chapter, have competitive grades , some college activites and give each chapter a fair shake, you stand the best chance as a non-freshman to receive a bid.

GatorGirl19 04-17-2009 09:13 PM

yeah, i'm basically trying to cover all those bases. I'm very impartial since I don't know many greek girls here on campus so I don't know about an reputations or anything. I think I'd accept a bid from any chapter as long as I felt comfortable with the sisters.

BUMP!

I know this was a very long time ago...BUT

Thank you so much for sharing your story! Ive spent the last hour or so reading it and prepping myself for rush.

You had such wonderful support and I can only hope I have such helpful friends when I experience rush in a few short weeks!

This one needs a bump.

If you're going through recruitment (at UF or elsewhere), I'd suggest reading it.

Something like 8 years later and it's still awesome.

still lovin' it!

Hello Ladies!

Every year around recruitment I'm reminded of this thread, and it always brings a smile to my face. How lucky to be able to relive recruitment - without ACTUALLY reliving recruitment! haha.

I'm headed to the Kappa Leadership Academy this year as an alumni, and I'm very excited.... just goes to show you, you never know where joining a chapter will lead you. :p

That's so exciting! One of my good friends is going this year! If you get a chance, say hi to the collegiate from Eta Epsilon!

This is good reading, especially for girls who rush as upperclassmen. :)

Thanks for the bump; this is a well-written thread, and I enjoy re-reading it. I wonder how CurlyGirl is doing?
