Congratulations to the Arkansas sororities and new members. Good luck to AOPi during colonization.

That is wonderful!!! Our family friend is VP Membership this year... She has worked very hard.

Also, final #'s (excpet for Theta) for University of Southern Mississippi. FYI: DG was listed somewhere on here as pledging 28, the # should be 30.

ADPI = 18
Chi O = 30
DDD = 29
DG = 30
KD = 28
Theta = ?
Phi Mu = 31
Pi Phi = 30

More Bama. Quota range is 61-76. From what I have been told this is an exceptionally large range for this late stage in the game.

I wonder if they still expect many women to voluntarily withdraw? Frankly I was surprised by the number that had withdrawn after Serious Night/Pref and it may still go up. I don't quite understand why a PNM would go through the final round then decide not to fill out a Pref Card (or whatever that ridiculously long PC name is they now call it. ;))

Anyways, Bid lists were due at 10pm CST, so now we wait.

My daughter was told by her Rho chi that 500 girls dropped or were cut btx skit and pref! Can that be right?

No. I just checked and there are still 1059 active PNMs listed. However I don't know if that number includes any snap bids or not. Also, there were around 50 that were no shows for 1st round. Not counting them, that puts the total number of PNMs that went through the process at around 1300. Doing the math, that means around 240+/- women total either withdrew or were cut for all rounds.

That makes more sense!

Zillini!!

Where are you?! I need an update on 'Bama!

Zillini 08-20-2006 09:36 PM

Here I am. Sorry folks, I just found out myself. I couldn't go to Bid Day and I was expecting Panhellenic to update the website so I'd know but they haven't. ARGH! I didn't want to bother folks during Bid Day so I kept waiting, and waiting and waiting. I was going crazy because nobody remembered to call me. Double ARGH! I finally picked up the phone and got the numbers.

University of Alabama:

Quota: 69 for Freshmen and 6 for Upperclassmen

ADPi made both quotas and had 3 Freshmen quota additions for a grand total of 78 new members. Woohoo!

OleMissGlitter 08-20-2006 09:37 PM

AOII at Alabama got 82 (quota plus) and my source told me that everyone made quota at Alabama! Great news! I don't know what quota is, sorry!

AUDeltaGam 08-20-2006 09:46 PM

I should know either tonight or tomorrow where my mom's friend's daughter pledged (at Bama) :)

Everyone made quota? That is entirely awesome, and totally unprecedented, if true. Although SDT did not participate, perhaps it will help them, too, with their COB.
The university's News Bureau @ http://uanews.ua.edu/ should post results, probably tomorrow sometime. I'll bet the Birmingham News has it in the morning!:p

AUDeltaGam 08-21-2006 11:01 AM

Carnation, you should like this...

My mom's best friend's daugter just pledged PI BETA PHI at Alabama!!

bamabelle99 08-21-2006 12:32 PM

Bama Update!

Update from 'Bama!

Phi Mu got 77 girls
Gamma Phi Beta got just 27 girls - not sure why this is so low:confused:
Sigma Delta Tau got 2 girls:(

Nat'l Panhellenic sent 9 reps and said that Alabama has the largest rush group this year. So many girls didn't get bids that they are
still trying to match people up for snap bids.

That's it for now - if anyone knows anything about ZTA please let me know!

bamagphibgirlie 08-21-2006 01:51 PM

Hi, I am one of the new members of gamma phi! As a sophomore rushing I totally didnot have as many options as freshman, but I am not complaining and I am so excited to get to know my new sisters! Anywho, for some reason this year all the girls were really close minded about their options. You cannot believe some of the absurd reasons I heard from pnms choosing houses to go back to(i.e omg i totally love their colors, mascot, sherbert, house, whatever) Also the girls were tradition minded and most were going for the oldest and traditionally southern sororities, whereas gphib is located predominantly in the north and is the youngest of the sororities on campus. So when the eventually and huge cuts were made leaving some girls with only gamma phi and sdt on their lists, they dropped out or stuck it out to prefs and then withdrew with the optimism of getting a snap. I think its all silly, but honestly it those girls loss. I am sooo happy to join a greek community where i have found a home and stuck it out through one of the largest and most competitive recruitments in the country!
