Is there a GC moderator who is conservative or even moderate?

Yeah, I think they were up about a year ago (or so it would seem!)

Sheehanoia for Sale
YearlyKos, Markos Moulitsas's annual Angry Left convention, is auctioning off America-hating crackpot Cindy Sheehan. To be precise, you can bid on a "speaking engagement with Cindy Sheehan," with the proceeds going to the Kos con. If you're the winning bidder, "Cindy will come speak to a group of your choice," with the following exception:

Because of the obvious potential for right-wing shenanigans, Cindy retains the right to refuse to speak to groups antithetical to her cause or offensive to her beliefs. If no group can be agreed upon, the winning bidder will receive a full refund.

Of course, if the left were smart, they'd take up a collection to shut her up.

No, we're all anarchists, and I'm not even sure I know how to spell it.

I am interested in how a woman who has lost a son and is against the war suddenly becomes an American hater.

The woman is a lost cause, but I thought that the right to disagree with something and speak your mind was one of the principles upon which the United States was founded.

And, as difficult as it is to understand, disliking the President or his administrations policies does not equate to hating the country -- or do you consider anyone who isn't comfortable with the present leadership to be American haters?

That's a sad commentary.

ktsnake, and Killarney Rose, for a couple; I think LXA Alum falls on the conservative side, as do a few others.

It's not that she's against the war and has lost her son; it is her series of actions over the past year or so. Rudey posted a pretty good rundown of her appearances and the people she's surrounded herself with since she first appeared on the scene.

She is more than entitled to mourn her son and to criticize the war. I can't imagine the pain of losing a loved one so early in his life. However, making herself as public as she has, the public has a right to hold any sort of opinion they'd like about her, good, bad or otherwise. The fact that she lost a son, as horrible as that must be, does not shield her from that.

This is from our paper (That I wrote for :( )...Ms. Sheehan is many things, MARTYR is not one of them....

http://www.thedailyaztec.com/media/p...dailyaztec.com

The most compelling moment of President Bush's State of the Union address last Tuesday came before his first utterance. It happened when a besieged, broken-hearted mother from Vacaville, Calif., was arrested and forcibly led out of the U.S. House of Representatives for wearing a T-shirt that read "2,245 Dead. How many more?" - alluding to the number of sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers and fathers who have been remorselessly slaughtered in Iraq.

Her name is Cindy Sheehan and you should know who she is because I and many others have written about her strength, bravery and unequivocal patriotism before. I feel obligated to add another epitaph to her growing legacy: Martyr.

Wow that is poorly written - FYI, kid, you might want to look up the word epitaph

The way I see it, she can be a President Bush hater, a war hater, a Conservative hater, a Liberal hater, a Republican hater, or a DeltAlum hater.

She can meet and talk to or address pretty much anyone.

It still doesn't mean she hates America.

She's not advocating the violent overthrow of the government, but rather the end to a war in which she doesn't believe.

Does it?

No but when she meets with Chavez to "to help bring down the U.S. empire", one may say "HMMMM She's loco and hates America."

But her better quotes are in this link, including about us occupying New Orleans:

During my entire time at State, our opinion section has been 100% left-wing radical liberal. I have a friend finally puting in some conservative views, but I bet he gets a lot of shit.

What the heck is that site?

Did she actually attend that meeting and what did she say?

I don't disagree that she's loco.

Yes she did attend that meeting/rally/speech/whatever. How have you not heard about this??

She hung out with Saddam Hussein's buddy and supported that statement as well as the statement an awful singer made about how Bush was the world's greatest terrorist.

Seriously I would love to get some sort of understanding on the troops occupying New Orleans and needing to go.

http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/msnbc/Co...1p.hmedium.jpg

She planned to challenge Feinstein in the races because Feinstein didn't want to immediately pull everyone out of IRaq. This is the Iraq war that we are supposedly fighting because of an Israeli conspiracy. She decided not to run - ie she realizes her loco ways don't entice much of the left even.

That was the info I was looking for, thank you. I remembered you had mentioned it in a thread earlier.

It sure does make her think that she's not a fan of the U.S. I'm not saying she's advocating the violent overthrow, but when you stand next to Hugo Chavez with a smile on your face like that, you don't exactly look like the country's biggest fan.

Again, she has the right to speak her mind and believe whatever she wants; the public then has the right to make judgements on her based on those views.
