Thanks for being open minded. |

I could point out more holes in this argument, but it serves no point. Doesn't really matter anyway, they've gotten their punishment. Perhaps you should go help them "get it together" instead of coming on the internet to argue, you stated your opinion, as I stated mine. Case Closed On My End All that extraforaneous "small-minded" dialogue wasn't necessary. I'm not Greek and I don't attend GA State, so my interest in this issue is limited. I simply stated an opinion. |
There is no justification for those two individuals doing what they did. Yet, as soon as they arrived at the party they were told to wipe the shoe polish off. Like I said, this whole situation has been blown out of proportion. Yes, I think it offended people, but the extreme measures that have been taken after the fraternity suspended the members and wrote an apology letter are completely uncalled for. Legal action, in my opinion, was not neccessary. The TWO individuals and the chapter members as a whole have received threats, for the total of two seconds that they had "blackface" on. Once again, action has been taken for those two individuals by the fraternity, I see no purpose in suspending the entire chapter. Clearly they've shown maturity in handling the matter as quickly as they did.

The long and the short of it is, this is a completely BS event, they DID NOT BREAK A LAW and they were on campus. I love liberals who wave the Freedom of Speech and Expression banner around, but then if it is something they disagree with then screw freedom of Speech. I hope the PiKEs are exhonorated and people like you shut your mouth about every little percieved "injustice" against you. People are sick of the race card constantly being played. |

They weren't being bigots, they simply didn't think through their actions.
As for white people in BGLOs, etc. I have yet to see one. At least at my campus and at a few others that I've been to, NPHC orgs are, no offense intended, a joke. Really, though with three members on a campus, its hard to take them seriously, especially given their lack of events or even making their presence known. Aside from the random times once a semester that APA rents out a club (which Christ everyone does Greek or not), NPHC orgs, might as well be invisible. I don't think its being "selective" I think, its a simple lack of interest. |

a joke, yea right. obviously, you're exposure has been slim to none to spout hot garbage such as this. trust, none of the NPHC organizations could really care what people think about them. evidently, you don't think enough if you don't think there is interest. maybe it's because you yourself don't support black greek events, you wouldn't know anything about, now would you? i could care less about IFC frats, i don't know anything about them....why should i even notice anything they do? ask the black students at your school if the NPHC organizations are invisible. i'm sure you'd get a crazy look. our interest don't go out talking about how they;re going to this and that...we practice something called discretion. but then again, i wouldn't know about just taking anyone who came to a rush function. |

99% of traditional GLOs (NIC/NPC groups) are much larger than any BGLOs or MGLOs.
As for taking anyone who rushes...we don't, most don't. As for asking the minority students at my campus about NPHC.. Fall 2003 Fraternities Alpha Phi Alpha 3 members, no new members Lambda Upsilon Lambda 2 members, no new members Sororities Delta Sigma Theta (wow huge group) 6 members, no new members Lambda Pi Chi 2 members, no new members Sigma Lambda Upsilon 2 members, no new members Sigma Psi Zeta (huge group here!) 7 members, no new members Growth numbers look PHENOMENAL |

Just because you dont see them does not mean that they do not exist. I have seen quite a few non-African American members in the NPHC groups at the university I attended. |

Sigma Lambda Upsilon Lambda Pi Chi are NOT part of the Divine Nine or NPCH. Those two Sororities are Latina Based Sororities and if I am correct are governed by NALFO (National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations. I highly doubt that you were able to get the information that you have stated since most times you do not know who is pledging a BGLO, also I'm pretty sure that if a latina sorority was down to 2 members with no new members then their nationals would step in and probably close that chapter. Both of the above mentioned Latina sororities are NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS Just thought you might want to have you facts right. |
