i couldn't figure that out!! it seemed like other pitches that clemens has thrown and i don't know if it was just emotion from the game or ramirez reading way too into the pitch, but it definitely didn't seem like clemens was aiming at his head...

watching that game at a bar tonight was quite interesting.. i love people watching in those situations!

What bar did you go to? I'm going out to watch the Cubs game tomorrow, probably to watch the Yanks game as well.

I was down in the North End today with my parents while everything was going on. People were crazy down there as well.

I am worried about the Burkett game. Hopefully he will have a awesome day. Hopefully Boston plays like the did like the last 3 games when the played Oakland because Boston is good at being the comeback kids.

Oh I do the was wrong of Manny to freak out about Clemens. He was alot closer to hitting the next guy up than Manny.

NY Post weighs in on Zim v. Don Pedrito

http://www.nypost.com/images/front101303.gif

This is the back of today's New York Post. And the tabs are calling Petey "Fenway Punk" and "Psycho Pedro."

The1calledTKE 10-13-2003 06:54 PM

Zim charged Pedro and swung a Pedro. He even appoligized and tv and cried about it the next day. What was Pedro suppose to do take the punch? I think not.

ok, i'm sure i'll get flamed for this, but i'd just like to say (and i'm sure this is also going to be a well, she's a die-hard red sox fan so of course she's going to say that) but...

i don't get how everything is turning into pedro is the bad guy. yeah what he did was wrong, he could have handled himself better, he should know better. but zim should also know better, he charged at pedro, did he think pedro was just going to take it?

i think that manny overreacted about the clemens pitch. i've read a lot about people thinking that pedro's hitting garcia was intentional and unintentional. i, personally, don't know which it was. and i think there is only one person who really does know..

but what i want to knows is how come nothing has since been mentioned about how garcia purposefully slid into walker when he knew he was out in that double-play? how come bloomberg is calling for pedro to be arrested, but has nothing to say about a fenway groundskeeper, who was assigned to sit in the yankees bullpen but was cheering for his employer and team, ended up in the hospital with cleat marks in his back and arm and a neck brace on? how come it's turning into the red sox are a$$holes but not the yankees?

i don't think the members of the red sox were right for all that they did, but i think the yankees definitely had a lot more fault than some people are saying they do...

flame on...

Why Pedrito may be the bad guy

One of the reasons why I think Pedro's being jumped on is that Zim is 72 and has a metal plate in his head. I think both parties were at fault in this, but to some, it just doesn't look cool when a 32-year-old guy makes contact with a guy 40 years his senior.

Plus, Pedro was considered a massive headhunter back when he was pitching in the National League. Some people suggested that perhaps he would temper his style if he were forced to bat and face the consequences of his actions, but I kind of doubt that.

Yep Nicole the yanks can't do no wrong as long as they are winning. The problem is they have so many bandwangon fans they have to bitch about how people did bad things to the yanks to prove they are a fan. But if the Detroit Tigers become a power house and win 6 stright world series I bet there would be much less yankee fans and more detroit fans.

I Agree with you. It seems that Pedro hasn't really adjust his style since coming to the American League. He still pitching high and inside the plate.

mmcat 10-13-2003 11:31 PM

joy to the world...
bosox still live...
let's go for bosox and cubbies...
it should be both of their centuries....
