You think this is bad, it's going to get worst. One of the OPEC member nation, Indonesia, have just announced that they will not be able to meet their quota. Less petrol will be entering the market. :(

This is vastly different then the 1970s. Instead of politics, this time it's the market that is raising the price. Unlike the 70s, we have two emerging powerhouse that is absorbing a lot of petrol. Namely China and India. There is no sign that the growth rate of those two countries will be slowing down. Although China is now trying to lower their growth rate by a percentage point. So, expect even higher petrol prices in the near future.

I believe that is Malibu, California, home of the rich and famous. I don't feel sorry for those customers. If you live in Malibu, you can pay $3 a gallon for gas.

The newscasters are also saying that another difference is the huge demand for oil by the U.S., caused by the plethora of SUVs now on our roads. I know one thing: I paid $2.25 for regular yesterday. I got $5 worth and called it a day. LOL

Oh how I remember the days when one could put 93 in just because and 10 bucks will fill the tank to "F"

Not anymore. Its 2.39 where I live and 10 does nothing but put my tank just a little under HALF

Once gas gets to 3 bucks here...I'm going to hit the closest Toys R Us and purchase a Huffy :(

BETs tribute to Luther showed the "Stop To Love" video. In the video Luther and the ladies are on top of some vehicle. In one scene they pass a gasoline station. I saw the sign read 65 cents for REGULAR Unleaded, 70-something cents for Plus and 80-something cents for Supreme. LOL

THAT must have been in 1987 or 1988. :o

TTT

Gasoline prices reached a record high for Indiana today, averaging $2.40 a gallon for self-serve regular unleaded, Gas prices will continue to climb for at least the next few days, he said.

One year ago, the average price in Indiana was just under $1.84 a gallon.

Indiana's most expensive average gas price today was in Gary at $2.45 a gallon. The least expensive was in Terre Haute, where it averaged nearly $2.35.

Can I request a cost of living raise on my job due to this?

CrimsonTide4 08-10-2005 02:34 PM

Man that crap is about $2.35 here in Charlotte. It's about to make me spend Labor Day here instead of in Cleveland with the family.:(

skywalker20_99 08-10-2005 04:25 PM

We're up to $2.45 in Kentucky.

aephi alum 08-10-2005 04:30 PM

Oil hit $65/barrel today.

I recently paid $2.729/gal to fill up my car. My car only takes premium.

:(
