Sigma Chi has been closed at Illinois Wesleyan University. Closure is due to RMF.

PGD-GRAD 05-19-2021 06:46 PM

Yes. According to the Illinois Wesleyan school newspaper, the Sigma Chi closure is for 3 years due to a hazing incident that occurred in early April. Their house must be closed and their social media shut down.

Local paper's article about it - a student received a cut and bruise on the head due to a hazing incident. This article includes part of Sigma Chi's response - looks like they will not attempt a return to campus until at least 2025.

Sigma Chi will usually wait a minimum of 4 years before attempting to reinstall a chapter. The idea is to (hopefully) have none of the current members on campus.

Delta Chi has closed the chapter at Troy University(AL). Closure is due to "failure to adhere to the international organization’s policies and laws regarding chapter operations".

The Acacia chapter at Indiana University is closed as of July 1. The fraternity can’t return to campus until August 2024 at the soonest.

ETA: There’s more information on the Indiana Acacia website. (I believe this is the alumni website.)

Just received notification from Delta Gamma that the Zeta Phi chapter at Harvard University will be returning in Spring 2022 now that the university has repealed its ban on single gender organizations. Will this mean that Alpha Phi, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Kappa Alpha Theta will also be considering a return?

Alpha Phi has been on the only sorority remaining at this point https://www.instagram.com/cambridgealphaphi/ but it would be awesome if the others came back too!

Finally some good news! That single sex organization ban thing is a bunch of crap anyway.

We presented at Harvard shortly before the proverbial you-know-what hit the fan. I wonder if they'll they'll appear as reopening for extension in next year's thread?

My guess...not!
