Granted I didn't read all of them, but at least two of the pledges mentioned how much pledging affected their study time and stuff. Comments like "oh my gosh yes" and "school became number three on my priority list" are not good comments. My grades went up during pledge period. That doesn't help the image at all...

How do feel that having the MTV cameras around affected this semester's pledging experience?
What a question that is! With the cameras this quarter there is no way I could lie and say it was an accurate representation of the reality of our sorority. I feel like the viewers will only get a glimpse of what it is. I hope they see the bonds of sisterhood shine though. I think the cameras have affected the sisters and pledges and rushes of Sigma-- I know it has, by speaking with them and hearing what they said. I think the cameras have allowed us to learn a lot of our sorority….Having cameras here was a great learning experience, I don't regret doing it, but it's not the greatest reality that you'll be able to see from our sisterhood or our sorority life as a whole, it's only a glimpse.

Why are all "pledges" juniors?

Most people go through recruitment as a freshman or sophomore, so why did they only follow juniors?

Good question. The 6 pledges picked to live in the house were juniors mainly because a lot of them were transfer students. Also, keep in mind that these 6 pledges are only about a third of the whole pledge class. Granted, that also makes most of them 21, a plus in MTV's book if they were going to recruit anyone. :confused: Who knows, but I can say that almost all of the pledges seemed very authentic and the ones I am suspicious of have good stories to back up their reasons to pledge. Good storytellers looking for 15 minutes of fame or real pledges? :confused: You decide.

I was just curious as to why all 6 were juniors. Nothing wrong with the way that turned out, just was curious. :)

Is having a pledge house something most chapters do? It's not something I've ever heard of before.

Umm just looked at ther website on MTV and no offense but i certainly wouldnt want anyone knowng that my sisters think of me as the "Sigma Lush". Well wouldnt want the world to now my sisters are a differet story.

No, the Pledge house was provided by MTV, as a place where they could film the pledges. It was pretty far from basically anything in Davis, so it gave the pledges a place of solitude, with just them and the cameras. (So calling it swanky is fine.)

As to the sister's behaviors over the quarter, I think they behaved remarkably well. The camera will probably only show the 12 girls on the website, and those 6 sisters have been some of the strongest (least gossipy) members of Sigma, and should be able to show accurately and properly what it is like to be in a sorority.

And Eminem, as anyone living in Davis will tell you, is a very talented man.
