You'd be surprised as to how frilly and formal some of these ladies get! In Atlanta I saw some sisters who looked as if they were going to see the Queen!

Good thing I have 83092348712387 dresses to recycle from past formals. One can never go wrong with a long and strappy black cocktail dress!

I have not given a single thought to what I will wear, BUT (drum roll) I have finally SENT IN MY REGISTRATION!

Missed the 3/1 earlybird, realized last week that if I didn't get it in by 5/1 I'd have to pay more. I've registered for Sat., Sun., and Tues. Two CNWSACs are getting a room for Sat. and Sun. and I'm staying with them. On Tues. I'm just going down early and back late.

My dithering was because I couldn't decide to register for full days or for meals only. I am not active in the alum club or on any committees so going to workshops isn't really important. I am, however, interested in Fraternity business and I don't want to miss the centennial pomp and ceremony. And I will be on the agenda at the Opening General Session so I'd better be registered! (Lynn knows why!)

Note that I am skipping Monday for the Convention but that doesn't mean I'm unavailable. Museums, parks, Chicago Botanic Garden--I can guide, or advise.

You will see sisters dressed to the nines and others dressed more casually. The goal is not to go broke for Convention! Wear what you feel is appropriate for each event based upon what is the recommended attire and have a great time!

I am wearing a formal dress that I have had and LOVE! I like to be overdressed with the more mature ladies. :D

Cell phone and Internet

My contract is up in June and I've been thinking about getting another one. I will probably have my web reactivated. Figured that would be the quickest way to tell people what room I am in, lol:D

My flight.

I had to cancel the flight I initially made with Katie and thank goodness I didn't have to pay anything! My plans are to stick around in Chicago for a few extra days and I probably won't leave until the Monday AFTER the end of Convention.

Plans haven't been finalized yet, but it looks like I'll be on a United non-stop to O'Hare, arriving at 5:15 AM  instead of 5:30 flying by myself. Dee, I hope that invitation still stands because I'll be a walking zombie that's 5 hours ahead!

Most definitely Sandy!

I found out this weekend that my mom donated the dress that I was planning to wear for Initiation and Epsilon Pi Banquet.

Good thing I found out now! I still have plenty of time to find a white dress that's appropriate. Darn having to go shopping! ;)

What a tragedy Maria! ;)

I'm still on the hunt for a white muumuu! I got great news today from the Hawai`i girls attending Convention...but I'm sworn to secrecy! :D Dammit!

AGDLynn 05-03-2004 06:51 PM

The more I get confused about what I want to take...my whole closet, lol. I think that I am going to try to aim for just 1 piece dresses as much as possible. That way I won't have to pack several 2 pieces per outfit (top/bottom).

Okay, after reading all the Convention related emails these past few days, I think I have a first count of how many Hawaii girls will be attending Convention...20!!! The bulk of us will be flying out of here, but there will be at least 3 or 4 collegians flying in from their homes on the mainland.

I don't even know how many Delta Sigma alumnae currently living on the mainland will be attending...I'm so excited because Delta Sigma will be heavily represented at CHAPTER ROLL!

72 Days left until Convention! The Fraternity's websites has a countdown clock - check it out!:)

I'm getting together with some of the Junior Circle girls this weekend to help assemble the Hawai`i (Delta Sigma, Hawai`i JC, Alumnae Chapter) display for the Heritage Fair! We made a call for pictures and stories not too long ago and it's amazing how many sisters responded beyond the call!

68 Years as an alumnae club and then chapter, and 12 years as a collegiate chapter...AGD definitely has a great history in Hawai`i!

I wonder how we're going to transport the board on the plane? Oh well...we'll figure something out! :D

AGDee 05-05-2004 08:31 PM

It might be easiest to Fed Ex or otherwise ship it to the hotel rather than trying to get it on a plane!
